COMIC REEL EXTRA

It's Day Zero of Comic-Con and already there's plenty to report, let's take a look at some of what we already know out of San Diego.

ASTRO CITY

Our pals at Spinoff Online note Kurt Busiek's series has been optioned for a feature. "Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce the adaptation, with Ben Barenholtz, Busiek and Jonathan Alpers executive producing. Barenholtz and Alpers previously tried to develop an Astro City film in 2003," they write. With the depth and breadth of material contained within the series, I'd expect several films to come from it.

Release date: TBA

THOR

Our Spinoff Pals also note the arrival of official movie sites for both "Thor" and "Captain America".

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

CHEW

Deadline reports "Chew" is coming to TV. "Stephen Hopkins has come on board to direct and executive produce the project, which is in the process of locking in a writer. Chew tells the darkly comic story of federal agent Tony Chu, a 'cibopath' able to get psychic impression from the things he eats who is assigned to the most usual and bizarre crimes," writes Deadline's Nellie Andreeva.

Airdate: TBA

KICKPUNCHER

Robot 6 notes an Entertainment Weekly report in which the mention to coming of "Kickpuncher" the comic from the TV show "Community." In the show, "Kickpuncher" comes from the mind of Donald Glover's character Troy Barnes. The comic will be credited to Barnes, with art from Jim Mahfood. No, really.

Release date: TBA

THE LEGEND OF KORRA

Also at Spinoff, details have emerged of the "Avatar: the Last Airbender" spin-off, centering on a new character coming to a steampunk city seventy years after the events of the original series.

Airdate: October
