THE AVENGERS

Our pals at Spinoff Online report Joss Whedon has finally let the cat out of the proverbial bag. "Asked about the film during the 'Entertainment Weekly: The Visionaries' panel with J.J. Abrams, Whedon responded: 'That is not an official thing. But I’m making that an official thing: I’m directing The Avengers,'" they write. While it has been a something of an open secret for sometime, everyone was expecting it to come out at some point over the weekend.

Release date: May 4th, 2012

RED

Here at CBR, we have new photos of Helen Mirren brandishing firearms.

Also, we have the new trailer for the film:

JUDGE DREDD

Karl Urban tells MTV News "I can't say too much at this point but it's lookin' good," in regards to the rumor that he's taking up the Law. There's even video:

TRON LEGACY

We also have the new trailer for the film here at CBR:

Well. I'm ready to see this now. Can I, please? Pretty please?

THE BOYS

Our old friend at Bleeding Cool snapped this photo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in the Robert Kirkman panel:

He also mentions Peg was reading "The Boys" before the panel began.

Release date: TBA

THE GREEN HORNET

Seth Rogen recalls with MTV News the difficulties of making the film happen. "It was exponentially more difficult, but the fact that we all hung in there and kept working on it is a testament to the fact that we really like it and that ultimately we all kept thinking it was worthwhile and the idea was good enough to keep plowing forward with," he says. There's also video:

Staring Seth Rogen, release date: January 14th, 2011

THE UNTAMED

Deadline reports Watchman producer Lloyd Levin is looking to make the series

as a feature film. "It is a dark fantasy revenge tale about a man released from hell and given seven days to reap the seven souls that murdered him and his family. Jones wrote the script and Boom! Studios co-founder Andrew Cosby is attached to make his directorial debut," they write.

Release date: TBA

SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Here at CBR, we have an in depth write-up on the Hall H movie panel. Wright explained he liked "the metaphor of romance and action and how much you would fight for love" and it impressed him enough to get involved in the film. Following the panel, Wright invited select people in the audience to see the movie in its entirety. I was actually over at the theater where the screening took place and will tell you all more about soon. If you're in San Diego, the film will also screen tomorrow and Saturday.

Starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, release date: August 13th 2010

SUPERMAN (BEGINS)

The Playlist reports David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan are the frontrunners to direct the film. Yes, we've heard it before, but intriguingly, their source has a reason. "WB want a writer/director for this 'Superman' reboot as it would be cheaper than hiring writers and a director." Hmm ... very interesting.

Release date: 2012?

COMIC-CON DAY TWO

So, Day One brought us confirmation of Joss Whedon and the first screening of "Scott Pilgrim." I wonder what day two will bring. If you haven't done so already, feel free to follow me on Twitter as I do update there more often during convention time. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take cit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of Day Three.
