THOR

Various sites are linking to a video of the footage from Comic-Con clearly not shot in Hall H.

UPDATE: Video removed by host

It does not have the 3D blur or the gasps or the screams of the crowd. I have to say all my doubts about the film have been washed away.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

COWBOYS & ALIENS

IGN got a few minutes with director Jon Favreau. He talked about the decline of the western. "They haven't been since Vietnam, honestly, since the late '70s. When I was a child, when I was really young, anything Vietnam was something that was a bit of a confusing wake-up call. So I think as America has rediscovered itself, but still sought to explore those archetypes, the genre shifted," he explained. His film will work both the western and sci-fi aspects "down the middle," playing them straight.

Starring Daniel Craig, release date: July 29th, 2011

CROSSHAIR

Heat Vision reports Top Cow's "Crosshair" has been picked up by Mandeville Films with an eye toward feature films. The premise, accoding to the article, "a former CIA assassin turned suburban superdad who faces his most dangerous enemy ever -- himself. The man learns that he has 48 hours until a suppressed program in his brain will turn him into an unstoppable killing machine aimed at the President of the United States and races against the clock to uncover and reverse the source of his trigger." Sounds interesting enough.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

MTV News has a couple of clips with Chris Evans talking the film. In the first, he talks about Cap's relationship to Bucky:

In the second, he talks the tone of the picture:

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

BLUE BEETLE

Here's a complete look at that live action effects test, thanks to the DCU Movie Page:

XERXES

In my interview with Zack and Deborah Snyder for CBR, the pair mention they are working on the script to the film while Frank Miller continues to work on his comic book version."[Frank Miller has] been showing me panels as he goes and so that's what we've been writing from," the director explained. "[Zack] knows where it's going. He has a whole outline of what the whole trajectory of the story is," added Deborah Snyder

Release date: TBA

THE BOYS

This is is another one of those buried at Comic-Con stories. Director Adam McKay announced he signed a deal to direct "The Boys" back on Saturday, according to Superhero Hype.

Release date: TBA

ANT MAN

Edgar Wright tells Cinema Blend his "Ant Man" script is at odds with having the character appear in "The Avengers." He explained, "The chronology of it or the way it works wouldn't really fit in with what they do. And my film is very much an introduction to that character, and so it wasn't something where it felt right to introduce him in that film. Maybe if I do the solo 'Ant-Man' film and maybe there's a later Avengers then they could draft him in later. But it didn't work with the kind of the angle that we were going to do with the origin that I'd written." So far, the character has not been cast or announced as part of the initial "Avengers" cinematic team, so it appears Wright will get first crack at Hank Pym.

Release date: TBA

AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS

Despite the MGM fiasco, Guillermo del Toro hates to leave a project. So what could really pull him away from "The Hobbit?" Well, how about the Elder Gods? Deadline reports the director is poised to make "At the Mountains of Madness" as his next film. "The film will be a big ticket item, shot in 3D where Cameron's expertise can really help. Cameron has said he won't put his name on many future movies outside of the 3D reboot of 'Fantastic Voyage' at Fox, but I've heard he's making an exception for del Toro. Cameron's presence helped win over the studio. I'm told the film will begin pre-production in the next few weeks, and shoot next summer," writes Deadline's Mike Fleming. Del Toro has been trying to make the H.P. Lovecraft adaptation for sometime and at least once suggested he would never be able to make it. Praise Cthulhu, it may happen at last.

Release date: TBA

ALIEN (BEGINS)

Deadline also reports "Lost'" Damon Lindelof is taking on Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. "In a development as vexing as a 'Lost' plotline, studio insiders said that while Lindelof indeed met with Scott and the studio for that rewrite job, the exchange of ideas between them sparked a take that could well turn out to be a free-standing science fiction film. The studio will decide when Lindelof turns it in," writes Mike Fleming. Fox could've turned several failed "Alien" scripts into sci-fi films of their own through the years. Vincent Ward's "Medieval Monastery in Space" is still an intriguing idea, even if elements of it did turn up in "Alien 3."

Release date: TBA

THE WALKING DEAD

Here at CBR, we have an interview with Gale Anne Hurd, one of the show's producers. She discussed the gore factor and AMC's understanding about that. "We came in there and said, 'It's about zombies. Zombies kill people and people kill zombies - it can't happen off camera.' And they said, 'No, we understand.' They actually showed us footage of movies that had been aired unedited during Fearfest, ones that been slightly edited, and honest to God, we went, 'Oh my God! We hadn't been planning on going that far, but okay!'" she recalled. Meanwhile, cast members Jon Bernthal, Andrew Lincoln, and Sarah Wayne Callies discuss the various stresses the characters face with MTV News:

Airdate: October

SMALLVILLE

The CW has made a trailer for the tenth and final season available on its YouTube account:

Returns: September 24th, 2010

COMIC-CON WRAP UP: DAY FOUR

And we're still not done uncovering stories from the mountains of madness known as Comic-Con. Oddly enough, Cthulhu is pretty easy to find on the show floor. I've barely had a chance to appreciate the few items I had a chance to pick up while there. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of finally unpacking.
