SPIDER-MAN (BEGINS)

According to Heat Vision, five actresses are in the running to appear as Peter Parker's love interest in the film. Imogene Poots, Ophelia Lovibond, Lilly Collins, Teresa Palmer and Emma Roberts are all being bandied about to play ... not Mary Jane. "In a departure from the Tobey Maguire-Kirsten Dunst movies, the love-interest character is not Mary Jane. What isn't clear is whether the actresses are auditioning to play Gwen Stacy, Parker’s other love interest in the comics (played by Bryce Dallas Howard in 2007's "Spider-Man 3") or some other new character. The script pages being given to the actresses have no name listed for the character," writes Heat Vision.

Release date: May 28th, 2012

GREEN LANTERN

Peter Sarsgaard tells MTV News about his preparation for the film and his dedication to the script:

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Deadline reports writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will be taking on scripting duties on the new live action "Turtles" film. "The studio is looking at this as its next huge franchise, like 'Transformers'," a source tells Deadline's Nikki Finke. Paramount is trying for a 2012 release.

Release date: 2012?

BLACK PANTHER

Wesley Snipes tells Comic Book Movie's Brent Sprecher about the possibility of appearing in a potential film. "I think they [the studio] think I'm too old now," said the actor.

Release date: TBA

RED

The production is going back to Louisiana to shoot an additional scene, according to Heat Vision. "The 60-second scene involves a comedic beat between [Bruce] Willis and [John] Malkovich, who portray a retired black-ops operative and a paranoid CIA agent, respectively," they write.

Release date: October 22nd, 2010

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Heyuguys.co.uk appears to be the source for "Captain America" news. After getting video from the set earlier this week, they received scene descriptions from an extra. "The first day we were on set we were filming a scene set in Nazi occupied Italy, where a group of POWs are marched back into camp by Captain America, and a few other guys. One of the guys was played by Neal McDonough, from Desperate Housewives, and there were a couple more. One Japanese guy and one other. Everyone was in normal military uniform, and Chris Evans was wearing military trousers, and a leather jacket, with the Captain America top underneath," writers their chatty extra, who also talks about the USO scene, an additional scene, and a description of Cap's costume.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

THE WALKING DEAD

Frank Darabont tells MTV News why Andrew Lincoln became Rick Grimes:

Airdate: October

WEEKEND AT HOME

After braving the desert and avoiding sandworms, it's time to head home for a rum drink and the weekend! I may also finish off "Dragon Age" at long last. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take cit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya bracing for the future threat of the week to come.
