GHOST RIDER 2: SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE

According to Bloody Disgusting, Nicholas Cage's head will once again be on fire in 2012. Columbia Pictures has chosen their release date (below) for the sequel. Of course, sometimes it seems like Cage's head is always on fire.

Release date: February 17th, 2012

DREDD

Karl Urban tells Empire a bit about the tone of the film and keeping the damned helmet on this time. "I think somewhere along the line Stallone's film was a missed opportunity," he says of the previous attempt at adapting "Judge Dredd" in which Sylvester Stallone appeared mostly without the helmet. "As soon as he took his helmet off the enigma was blown. Our film is going to be darker in tone, and we've got the benefit of modern filmmaking and technology to help us."

Release date: TBA

GREEN LANTERN

Blake Lively compares working on "Green Lantern" to the recently released "The Town" for MTV News. She also discusses Carol Ferris's possible turn to the dark side:

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

THOR

Comicus.it has an interview with "Thor" stuntman Ilram Choi. "When I was called in they never told me what it was for. There's a lot of secrecy on some of these films. So as I was rehearsing I eventually found out a few days later. Sometimes people will be called in for rehearsal to see how they will do so they won't give you any info just incase you don't get picked. This is common if you're working under someone you don't know," he says of getting the gig.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

SUPERMAN (BEGINS)

Guillermo del Toro may have been offered the center seat on reviving Superman. When Deadline asked him about that possibility, he laughed and replied, "There were other projects."

Release date: 2012?

PRIEST

Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, and Karl Urban tell MTV News about their roles in the film:

Okay, who turned off Maggie Q's mic?

Release date: May 13th, 2011

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Thanks to some sccopers, the lads at Comic Book Movie have some nice photos of props that will appear in the film:

What, props don't excite you? Look at how they're all vintage-like. I love classic looking tonic bottles.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

THE AVENGERS

Ed Norton discusses his departure from the Marvel superheros once again with MTV News:

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

SUPERMAN/BATMAN: APOCALYPSE

Here at CBR, we have a clip from the film featuring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman taking on the infernal devices of Apokalips:

I should be seeing the film tomorrow night at the Paley Center. If everything works out, I'll definitely let you know how it about it.

Release date: September 28th, 2010

IRON MAN 2

Peitro Filliponi at The Daily Blam! notes a reference to Black Panther in the upcoming home video release of "Iron Man 2." According to him, director John Favreau discusses the global situation map in the S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house on one of the DVD special features. "If you look on each one, and I know what they mean, but I'm not gonna say it, but I'm gonna say this: Two of them relate to "The First Avenger: Captain America," one of them relates to "Thor." The one in Africa relates to Black Panther," says Favreau. Superhero Hype has a more comprehensive look at the Blu-Ray release of the film. "The main highlight of this set is "Ultimate Iron Man: The Making of 'Iron Man 2.'" This is well over an hour of footage showing the creation of the suits, the creation of the Stark Expo, shooting in Monaco, editing, scoring, and more. It's a comprehensive video that follows Favreau from Day 1 of shooting. As an added bonus, if you watch the documentary all the way through the credits, at the very end there's a 'making of' feature showing the filming of the "Thor's Hammer" scene at the end of "Iron Man 2." We see Kenneth Branagh shooting. We see comments from J. Michael Strazynski, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, and more. There are even a few shots from the "Thor" movie that haven't been seen before, so it's a cool unadvertised treat," they write.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., release date: September 28th, 2010

SMALLVILLE

They're cloning Lex Luthor! SpoilerTV and Smallville-fans.com have the proof wit hthis YouTube video:

Meanwhile, Ed Gross has the summary for episode 10.3: "Supergirl": "Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned when Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort) returns to Earth and tells him Jor El sent her to stop the dark force that is coming because he doesn't believe Clark can handle it. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) confronts Gordon Godfrey (guest star Michael Daingerfield), a shock jock radio DJ who has been crusading against heroes, after he threatens the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley). However, after Godfrey is possessed by the dark force, he takes Lois hostage and Clark and Kara have to come to her rescue." And remember, give your will to Darkseid. Darkseid is.

Returns: September 24th, 2010

HEAD START

Looks like I'm going to have a busy week this week with a couple of reviews and another secret trip out of state. I will be able to talk about this one much sooner than the others, though. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, ready for the future threat of packing.
