IRON MAN 3

As we reported yesterday here at CBR, Paramount has relinquished its distribution rights to both "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3," bringing the Marvel film shift to Disney earlier than first planned. The Mouse is reportedly paying Paramount $115 Million for this early move. Disney quickly announced a release date for the third "Iron Man" film (which I've posted below). There's lots of percentages and profit participation deals involved, so this is kind of a big deal.

Release Date: May 3rd, 2013

SUPERMAN (BEGINS)

Director Zach Snyder tells Digital Spy no decision has been made in regards to the film's 3D prospects. "I don't know for sure, I can't say for sure but I will say that the experience of the 3D in 'Guardians' was so successful for what I wanted it to do. I think that 3D is pretty awesome if it's done as part of the cinematic language as opposed to being a gimmick," he says. In the past, he's mentioned a post-conversion of "300" impressed him, but he's still unsure of using an actual 3D camera in a live action setting. Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the legal fight for the character has been delayed by the judge over some lawyer shenanigans. As I understand it, this sort of thing goes on everyday, but we never here about it because "Superman" isn't involved in those other cases. Lastly, various sites are pointing to this Comic Book Movie scan of a "News of the World" article claiming Brandon Routh still has a shot at the part, but as Ain't It Cool News points out, they've been wrong about casting before.

Release date: 2012?

DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING

Neil Gaiman tells The Vulture (via our pals at Spinoff Online) that Morpheus's Sister may never come to movie screens. "We just set it up again at a Warner-related company and everything was all ready. It was weird, though. If you had asked me in March of this year about 'Death', I would have told you that I thought it was pretty definitely dead. And if you'd asked me in April, I would have been thrilled and happy and said, 'No, no, no, it's absolutely on.' And then in June, July, the new powers that be at DC and Warner basically closed everything down," he says. "Whether or not it will come back to life, I don't know. 'Death' seems amazingly hard to kill. And the truth is I will be happy either way."

Release date: Never?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Marvel Movie News (via Comic Book Movie) has a map of a shooting location in Caerwent, Wales and a description of the POW camp being built there. "The buildings in area 1 will be fitted out as prisoner barracks, with holding cages on the ground floor and guards patrolling above. Area 2, which features railway lines, will double as the prisoner arrival area," they write.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

THE WALKING DEAD

Here at CBR, we have an interview with Robert Kirkman and Frank Darabont about the series. "I don't think I have a very realistic expectation of how these things are supposed to go, just because every step of the way I've been allowed to be involved, I've been asked my advice, everyone working on this is actually talented and are doing a good job and they're making a good product," Kirkman said. "Yeah, you're fucked in the future. [Laughs] This is rare," joked Darabont.

Premieres: Halloween

So yeah, I'm still a little under the weather, but feeling a bit better. As I rested yesterday, I caught up on some of that shame pile. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, ready for the future threat of post-nasal drip.
