San Diego, CA - IDW Publishing has teamed with Konami, one of the world's most successful video game companies, to produce comics based on the huge hit video game Silent Hill.

To bring this extremely popular and horrific video game to a brand new medium, IDW has called on the services of some established masters of terror. Writer Scott Ciencin is the New York Times bestselling writer of more than 60 novels and many comics. Ben Templesmith, horror veteran of 30 Days of Night and Dark Days, among others, supplies the art for the first two issues of Ciencin's story. On Templesmith's heels comes Aadi Salman, a relative newcomer who will bring a fresh approach and an outstanding, original style to the series. Covers are by Ashley Wood, whose Popbot, art books, and many covers for IDW Publishing are well known.

"As video game fans ourselves, IDW knows just what the legion of Silent Hill devotees are looking for in a comic," says IDW Vice President and series editor Kris Oprisko. "Scott's script, as well as Ben and Aadi's art, perfectly captures the terror and foreboding of Konami's video game masterpiece."

Accumulated sales for the Silent Hill video game series have been marked at 4,000,000 units worldwide, making it one of the bestselling games on the market.

Silent Hill: Dying Inside #1, available in February, is a 32 page, full color comic book with a retail price of $3.99.
