As promised earlier this week, Universal and DreamWorks' "Cowboys & Aliens" has entered full-on promotion mode with its first trailer and a slew of images from the movie hitting the web.

The big budget actioner directed by "Iron Man's" Jon Favreau and starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell and Olivia Wilde saw its first clip debut on Yahoo! Movies. The story focuses on Craig's Jake Lonergan, a cowboy who wakes in the Arizona desert with no memory of his past and a mysterious arm band full of alien power and must use his skills to defend a frontier town from alien invaders.

Based on the Platinum Studios graphic novel created by Platinum CEO Scott Rosenberg and written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley [with a disputed screenplay credit going to Damon Lindelof, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman ], the film opens July 29, 2011.
