Will these be the faces of Peter Parker's parents?

It appears Spider-Man's next foray into film will include some marital drama, and we don't mean of the "One More Day" kind.

The Hollywood Reporter has news that casting is underway for four parts in the Marc Webb-directed Sony film: Peter Parker's parents Richard and Mary Parker and another mystery villain and his wife. The story says that actor Campbell Scott has already signed on as Richard while Julianne Nicholson is in talks to be Mary just as Irrfan Khan and Annie Parisse are exploring the possibility of the villainous pair.

Rarely seen in the comic books, the Parkers were revealed to be a pair of international spies who were murdered in Algeria when Peter was just a baby and branded traitors to the nation by the Red Skull. Whether the film will tell part of this story, introduce the parents via flashback or find another way to involve the pair remains unknown.

On the villain side of things, Khan and Parisse would join the already-cast Rhys Ifans who is widely believed to be playing the Lizard alongside Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey.

For more, check out the Hollywood Reporter, and for all things Spider-Man, keep it locked to CBR and Spinoff Online.
