SWAMP THING
A source working for Joel Silver (that wished to remain anonymous) emailed CBR News to report that comics scribe Len Wein has turned in a first draft script for a new "Swamp Thing" movie. According to our source, this is intended to be a true horror movie not "an unintentional comedy" like the Adrienne Barbeau-fueled original. Reportedly, Warner Brothers Pictures has the draft in hand.

BATMAN: INTIMIDATION GAME
Latino Review has a spy report about the cast of the Chris Nolan directed-film. "My sister -- an actress -- is with Chris Nolan's former manager at UTA. They talk still. Funnily enough, she's now been asked to audition for a small part in Nolan's next film -- 'Batman 5,' set to start shooting in England on February 4th ... there's no script yet, and she doesn't know what the role is, just that it's 'exposure' and 'experience.' There's two villains. There's one love interest. There's a young Commissioner Gordon. There's a young Harvey Dent. The cast are Christian Bale [Batman], Michael Caine [Alfred], Judson Caspian [Viggo Mortensen], Cillian Murphy [Harvey Dent], Katie Holmes [Rachel Caspian], Chris Cooper [Gordon], Elle Fanning [Barbara], Noah Emmerich, as of 11/29/03."
SPIDER-MAN
DVD Answers quotes a USA Today report on a proposed new edition release of the original Tobey Maguire vehicle. The proposed date for the release would be July 2nd, but other information is sketchy at best.
