After making his feelings known on Twitter recently, Rob Liefeld clarifies his position on Fox's treatment of the character with MTV News. "I know the producers are awesome — the Donner people are great people. They have assembled a perfect storm, so let's go! Ryan Reynolds is amazingly bankable. Women love him, men love him. ... He has the Will Smith / Tom Cruise bankability, and you don't even need to ask him to star in the movie — he's already committed! He's a producer!" he says of the project, which already counts Ryan Reynolds in the title role and a script by "Zombieland" writers Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick. Believing the hold-up to be a budgetary concern, Liefeld urges Fox to open up its pocketbook and make the movie.

Deadline reports that Orlando Bloom is in talks to reprise his role as Legolas in the film. Since his character is the son of Woodelf King Thranduil, it wouldn't be crazy to see him at the Battle of Five Armies or at the Hall of the Woodelves.

Our pals at Spinoff Online have reviewed the film. According to them, it's a bit of a let down. While flawed, it still offers plenty to its core audience. "'TRON: Legacy' is cut from the same circuit boards as its 28 year old predecessor, for better and for worse. If you appreciate 'TRON' in all of its flawed glory, or simply love yourself a good, action-packed, eye candy-filled adventure, 'Legacy' is undoubtedly one of the slickest joyrides you'll see this year," writes Spinoff's Adam Rosenberg.

Syfy's other "people with powers" series, "Alphas" has an episode order and a commitment from the network, Deadline reports "Three Inches" is a little bit of trouble. While they liked both pilots, Syfy believes "Alphas" fits the hour long action format better. "Syfy is exploring the idea of converting Three Inches to a single-camera half-hour, a genre the network has been actively pursing for the past several months. If the show stays hourlong, Syfy is mulling several scenarios, including making the show "less mission-oriented and more about the characters and their lives or focusing more on the central character played by [Noah] Reid and not so much on the team," writes Deadline's Nellie Andreeva. The show, it it goes to series, will star Reid as a man who can push anything three inches with his mind.
Spinoff Online reported yesterday that producer David E. Kelley has not committed to the TV project. "We quickly made it known that was premature. I haven't necessarily committed to doing it yet. I'm at the point where I’m trying to figure out if I can make the franchise work for me," said Kelly to Zap2It. "If I can’t, I don’t want to delude Warner Bros. or anybody else that I should be doing it."
Release date: TBA
Spinoff also notes a Twitter post by Brian Michael Bendis confirming Charles "Chic" Eglee -- recently departed from the staff of "The Walking Dead" -- is in talks to develop the comic series for television. As previously reported, "Powers" has a lot of interest from the executives at FX and, should Eglee sign on, it will air on that cable channel.
HALF-WATCHED HALF-BLOOD PRINCES
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" put me to sleep. Of course, I had a bad sinus headache most of the day anyway, but the film seemed to be one of the slower outings for the series. A full hour in and nothing seemed to be happening beyond Harry tricking Ron into becoming a good quiddich player. I'll be giving it another go tonight. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of "The Deathly Hallows Part 1"
