IRON MAN 3

As we reported yesterday here at CBR, director Jon Favreau has walked away from the "Iron Man" series. After word broke out, Favreau confirmed on his Twitter account that, indeed, he was opting out, instead directing Disney's "Magic Kingdom." While he discusses his interest in that project with The Los Angeles Times -- and mentioned he'll be staying on as a producer of "The Avengers" -- Ed Gross at Comic Book Movie hears a different story on Favreau's departure. "Robert Downey Jr. and the director, Jon Favreau, their friendship broke up over that whole mess of the second movie. Did you notice they didn’t do press together?" says there source, who must've missed the press conference for the film I was at where the two seemed quite chummy. "Because the movie sucked, and I think Robert Downey, Jr. blamed Jon Favreau. That's why Downey dropped out of 'Cowboys and Aliens', because he didn't want to work with Jon Favreau again. Also, by the way, it's why Jon Favreau dropped out of 'The Avengers.' I thought the odds of him directing Iron Man 3 were slim, and that proved right," continues that source, a supposedly "prolific" member of the Hollywood community. Other rumors suggest Favreau and Marvel could not agree to a favorable contract. Hollywood is sometimes wiley like this. It could be money, burn-out, and more interesting project, or bad blood. This is the sort of thing that can occur when emotions and hundred million dollar films collide.

Release Date: May 3rd, 2013

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Has the script leaked? The Daily Blam! points to a thread on the Superhero Hype message boards where one poster claims to have read the script. While I won't re-post specific, just in case it's legit, but all of the information sounds like a combination of previously heard rumors including villains and female characters. He doesn't mention an overall plot as such, just how characters tie to the first two films. To me, it seems like wishful thinking. Only a takedown notice from the studio would prove any sort of legitimacy. Meanwhile, the LA Times Hero Complex Twitter page let it be known that director Christopher Nolan was out scouting locations in Asia for the film as his nominations for "Inception" were announced.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

THE GREEN HORNET

According to Superhero Hype and a few other sites, Seth Rogen will appear on "Mythbusters" tonight as part of a special episode in which the team test out a few of the set pieces from the film. "We were making a big action movie and it just seemed like the only time we could do something like this. I watch the show all the time and it just seemed cool to see if the stuff in our movie was possible in any way, shape or form," says the actor via a press release. The episode will air tonight at 9pm ET/PT on the Discovery Channel.

Staring Seth Rogen, release date: January 14th, 2011

THOR

Star Chris Hemsworth talks the film with Marvel.com. "He has to be that warrior and he still has to have those elements," he says of the character's hubris. "That’s what makes him Thor. But also, you don't want to watch a guy for too long on screen who's just a jerk all the time. You get moments of it, where it's kind of cool and bad, but then it just gets old. You've got to find that balance, and at the right times, sneak a bit of it back in."

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

DEADPOOL

At his official site, co-creator Rob Liefeld discusses his picks for the film's director. The list includes the likes of the Wachowskis and Sylvester Stallone.

Release date: TBA

SPIDER-MAN (BEGINS)

On Location Vacations (via Comic Book Movie) may have the first look at sets from the film. According to the site, these photos are from a Los Angeles studio back lot and show the standing streets being refit to appear as New York in an unnamed production. They venture it's for "Spider-Man." Here's a photo of the progress being made:

Release date: May 28th, 2012

TRON LEGACY

Co-star Olivia Wilde talks with Collider about the film:

Starring Jeff Bridges, release date: December 17th, 2010

DOCTOR WHO

Den of Geek has a few tibits from the series six trailer which will appear at the end of next week's Christmast special. I won't post details for fear of spoilers, but suffice to say, hats are cool.
