THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
As our pals at Spinoff Online reported, producer Charles Roven, while speaking with Shock Till You Drop, confirmed the Dark Knight does not share the same cinematic world as the Man of Steel. "That may be in somebody's mind but right now the Batman lives in his world and the Superman lives in his world. Those stories are those stories and we haven't thought beyond each individual picture," he explained. "This is the trilogy. 'The Dark Knight Rises' is the third part of what Chris [Nolan] created with 'Batman Begins' and we're not looking past that." Working on both Batman and Superman films, Roven mentions the "Superman" project will be released in the winter of 2012. Interesting ...

Star Ron Perlman tells The Examiner (via MTV News) he's always ready to get into make-up and wrap up the story. "When he set up that [Liz Sherman, Hellboy's love interest] is pregnant with twins at the end of 'Hellboy 2,' [director Guillermo del Toro] kind of sketched out what the third 'Hellboy' movie would look like. It's so theatrical. It's so epic. It's so dark," said the actor. "And also, we have to find out about the Hellboy destiny. It's written in stone that he's going to destroy mankind. That's what he's been brought to Earth to do. So the whole dialogue between nurture and nature gets to live itself out in the third 'Hellboy' movie. But if there's no third one, then the audience doesn't get to see any of that."

Andrew Garfield gives The Los Angeles Times' Envelope a little recap of working on the film so far. "We're two weeks in. The first week was full of stunts, and I've never felt happier in my whole life. I'm all bruised and scratched up, and it feels really good," he says. "It's just me throwing myself up against walls, which is incredibly fun and painful and testing my manhood. It's a childhood fantasy I'm living out." I suppose that's fun.

G.I. JOE 2
The LA Times's 24 Frames blog reports Stephen Sommers will not return to direct the sequel to his "G.I. Joe: the Rise of Cobra." According to the article, " Two agents who represent other filmmakers have said they'd recently been approached about their clients coming on to helm the movie and were told that Sommers would not be getting behind the camera. Paramount declined to comment." Curious, that. I thought the Sommers "funny, but also serious" tone made the film more enjoyable.
