X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

As Spinoff Online reported yesterday, Twentieth Century Fox released a couple of international poster images in support of the film. The premise: "Before They Were X-Men." Here's the Erik/Magneto poster:

Y'know, I was never fond of Magneto's minimalist costume in the original "X-Men" trilogy. I think it's the side-cape that ruins his profile. The robes would've been enough for this particular design.

Release date: June 3rd, 2011

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Batman-News has this video from Oprah's post-Oscar show in which actress Anne Hathaway refers her DKR part as "Catwoman."

While some are calling this a confirmation, I can't help but wonder if it's just Hathaway's point of reference. I suppose it is as much definitive word as we're going to get for the time being.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

MEN IN BLACK III

Josh Brolin tells MTV News that the script is in good shape:

Release date: May 25th, 2012

THE AVENGERS

MTV News also caught up with Mark Ruffalo, who explains that Bruce Banner will have substantial screentime in the film:

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

GREEN LANTERN

The Daily Blam! has a series of "Green Lantern" posters. I think this one is the most effective:

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT

The Offical Facebook page has a couple of new poster images. This one is pretty sharp:

Release date: April 29th, 2011

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

According to Film Music Reporter (via The Playlist), composer Alan Silvestri will score the film. He also wrote the music for the "Back to the Future" Trilogy and "The Abyss," amongst others. He's definitely a good choice for the film.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

AKIRA

io9 has a look at an earlier draft of the film. While it is currently being re-written, it's interesting to note the main characters are still called TETSUOOOO!! and KANNNEEEDAAA!! I always assumed these names would be Westernized. "It appears the American version of the film will include a lot of stuff about drugs that got left out of the Japanese film," writes io9's Annalee Newitz. "We got a glimpse of a scene of his rampant drug abuse from the American script - a scene that really doesn't exist in the Japanese film. Kaneda and Ky confront Tetsuo at a bowling alley of all places, where he's murdered a rival gang member gruesomely, and is chowing down on pills. The scene is a bad mashup of a bit in the original movie when Tetsuo confronts two members of his gang who once picked on him in a pool hall, and the intense final fight between Tetsuo and Kaneda after Tetsuo has discovered the jars that hold Akira's remains." It'll be interesting to see how screenwriter Steve Kloves uses these ideas in the new draft.

Release date: TBA

THOR

Comicus.it has an interview with stunt performer Dorenda Moore. "Most of my experience was on location in the New Mexico deserts where it was cold and windy," she says. "An entire town was built just for Thor. This allowed us a lot of freedom to create some amazing stunts and have a tone of fun blowing things up without damaging anything of great importance." She also talks about working with Natalie Portman and the role of stunts in the computer effects age.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

The Daily Blam! has a few photos of star Andrew Garfield in and out of costume:

Release date: July 2nd, 2012

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK

According to The New York Times, producers of the show are considering pushing back the official opening day until June. "The three people who discussed the deliberations said they expected a decision regarding opening night to be made as early as this weekend; if it is postponed, an announcement will be made this week," they write. Officially, the show is still set to open in two weeks.

Opens: March 15th, 2011 ... maybe
