SUPERMAN (BEGINS)

As Spinoff Online reported yesterday, Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane in the "Superman" reboot. I'm pretty pleased with the choice. Though my first Lois was Margot Kidder, I've always been fond of the red-haired comic book version of the mid 80s and 90s. Apparently, there's some concern in fan circles as Adams is slightly older than new Superman Henry Cavil, but that's just splitting hairs when you have a talent like hers on board. Meanwhile, Crain (via Superhero Hype) reports that the production may film in Plano, Illinois. "'We hear they're taking offices in Naperville and shooting in Plano,' says Joe Crededio, a manager at Chicago Studio City and a son of its owner," they write. "'There's going to be 10 weeks of prep, 10 weeks of shooting. They're bringing in a lot of people from California.'"

Release date: 2012?

THOR

Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, talks with Digital Spy about the film:

Meanwhile, here at CBR, we have a few more of those "face-time" posters including this one of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster:

Starring Chris Hemsworth, release date: May 6th, 2011

GREEN LANTERN

Mark Strong tells Empire that he has not seen the movie yet, but "I’ve seen the artwork and if they can get that right, it'll be astonishing." He also mentions that all of his scenes were filmed on the green-screen stage. Meanwhile, Bleeding Cool has a spoiler-worthy look at a character who may or may not be in the film in his/hers/its action figure form.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Screenwriter Jane Goldman talks with Absolute Radio (via Comic Book Movie) about the film and the possibility of "Kick-Ass 2" while on the press line for the Jameson Empire Awards:

Release date: June 3rd, 2011

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Absolute Radio also got Gary Oldman talking about the upcoming "Batman" sequel, revealing that Jim Gordon will have plenty of interaction with Bane:

Meanwhile, a scooper at Superhero Hype spotted this Gotham PD vehicle in Chicago:

Release date: July 20th, 2012

DICK TRACY 2?

While this Los Angeles Times Hero Complex item focuses on Warren Beatty winning his claim to the comic strip character's film and TV rights, it contains this curious statement: "Plans for a film sequel were stalled as the lawsuit went on." The actor starred in and directed the 1990 film based on the strip. Will the sequel happen now that the rights issue has been resolved? He will recast the lead role, right?

Release date: TBA

THE AVENGERS

Cobie Smulders tells Zap2it (via Superhero Hype) that she's tried on her S.H.I.E.L.D. issue catsuit for the film. "I've seen conceptual drawings of what they want it to be," she adds. "It's fascinating to me. I feel like wardrobe becomes very creative on these types of movies because they literally spend weeks designing just the pants or the emblem. It's such an all-consuming process, so I'm excited to see how it all turns out."

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT

Comingsoon.net has this TV ad for the upcoming horror/comedy:

Release date: April 29th, 2011

WONDER WOMAN

A "casting agent" tells Moviehole about Diana's encounter with the infamous Los Angeles Superhero Community on Hollywood Boulevard. "Wonder Woman is chasing one of the suspected bad guys onto Hollywood Boulevard – near the Chinese Theater. She has a run-in with a fake Iron Man and then a Wonder Woman performer – in her fifties," says the agent. "The street performers cause her to lose her suspect." Um ... yeah. It's called tone. Get it wrong and it'll sink your project.

Airdate: TBA

GETTING READY FOR WONDERCON

Now having survived the party weekend, it's time to pack for WonderCon. I'll be up there covering the show with the CBR gang and maybe enjoying a meal or three. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of US Highway 101.
