GREEN LANTERN

Variety (via Spinoff Online) reports that Warner Bros is injecting the film with an extra $9 Million to ensure all the effects work is done in time. They note it is an example of a growing trend in the major summer releases. "Key players in the f/x biz say that with crunches mounting, it's only a matter of time before some f/x-heavy tentpole can't meet its delivery date -- a nightmare no studio has faced since 'Titanic,'" they write. "Should a tentpole be forced to change dates, the ripple effects on a studio, its rivals, exhibitors and tie-ins will be widespread and injurious to bottom lines." Meanwhile, here at CBR we have two new posters featuring Kilowog and Sinestro, who stands in his signature pose:

Also, Bleeding Cool spotted another long TV ad for the film:

Lastly, Ryan Reynolds talks tone with The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex's Geoff Boucher. "I feel that it’s the most exciting discovery as we kept going. No, it's not dark like Christopher Nolan's 'Batman movies,' but it isn't very light like you saw some of the [1980s] Superman movies get. The character is somewhere in the middle. He's a classic male. Han Solo, who was witty but not really funny, was one of the touchstones," he says.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, release date: June 17th, 2011

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Zoe Kravitz tells MTV News how she ended up playing Angel in the film. "I got the call at the last minute and I'd gone out the night before and I was hungover and tired and not the prepared person that I usually am. I was wearing a big hat and totally not being a sexy 'X-Men' character," she recalls. "I went in and had a good time with it. They called back and said, 'Matthew really responded to your tape, but can you come back and maybe wear something a little more sexy?' I didn't know until later the character was a go-go dancer. I went back in and in the next two weeks, I was on plane to London." Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender considers the friendship and ultimate rivalry between Magneto and Professor X in this LA Times Hero Complex article. "These two brilliant minds coming together and their views aren't that different on some key things. As you watch them you know that if their understanding, ability and intelligence could somehow come together it would be really special," he says. "But the split is what makes them even more interesting and tragic."

Release date: June 3rd, 2011

DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT

In the last of my CBR reports from the film's set, star Brandon Routh expresses regret that Dylan must enter the film world without his usual wingman Groucho, but relished the opportunity it gave the film in his replacement Marcus, played by Sam Huntington. "I think we've established a really cool relationship with these two guys that really makes the movie pop even more and adds a new element that I'm really excited about," says the actor.

Release date: April 29th, 2011

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

TomHardy.org (via Comic Book Movie) has a new photo of the actor showing off the extra muscle he's packed on to play Bane:

Meanwhile, the Daily Bhaskar (via Superhero Hype) reports that the production is headed to India. "The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has given the nod to US-based Cape Road Productions to shoot the next Batman flick, 'The Dark Knight Rises' in Jodhpur," they write. Perhaps it's more flashback material with young Ra's Al Ghul? Maybe Batman needs to go international again? Get your speculation hats on and send me the wildest idea you have.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Co-star Emma Stone tells E! Online that filming is almost complete. "We're doing exteriors in New York for a couple of weeks," she says. "so it'll be done in mid-May."

Release date: May 28th, 2012

ZORRO REBORN

The LA Times 24 Frames blog reports a new "Zorro" adventure is afoot. This one will reportedly take the character to the future! "Specifically a desolate and post-apocalyptic one, according to a person familiar with the film who asked not to be identified," they write. "In this version, Zorro will be less a caped crusader for justice than a one-man vigilante force bent on revenge." With a director and writers attached, the project is pretty far along, but I have to question the wisdom of taking Zorro out of his setting and changing the tone.

Release date: TBA

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Chris Evans talks with MTV News about his trepidation to take on the part and his pride in the footage he's seen so far:

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

THE AVENGERS

Obsessed With Film (via Comic Book Movie) reports they've been contacted by someone looking to sell a leaked copy of the script or, rather, the "08/04/2011 shooting draft script titled 'Group Hug.'" That title is one of the film's production code names. The seller offered this photo as proof:

What do you think? Genuine? Is Sam Jackson in trouble for letting his script pages out? Or is it a very clever hoax? I'm actually leaning toward the latter considering the amount of security surrounding the film.

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

SMALLVILLE

The CW released this clip from the upcoming episode "Dominion" on their YouTube account which features Oliver and Clark arriving in the Phantom Zone:

"I JUST KNOW THINGS"

Another bit of "Law & Order" news I just have share with you. According to Deadline, "Special Victims Unit" actor Ice-T is set to get his own reality show with his wife Coco. Here's the premise: "The two have been married ten years and remain inseparable, having spent only one day apart in all that time. From the start, Coco dedicated herself to becoming the woman behind her man, and is the heart and soul of the family brand. But, now that she has a series of projects of her own on the horizon, Coco has set her sights on establishing a solo career while maintaining balance in her relationship." The show, called "Ice Loves Coco," arrives on E! in June. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of Richard Belzer's reality show.
