THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

According to Floss Magazine's Twitter feed (via Movie Web), a former Batman will be making an appearance in the new film. "Hollywood big wigs confirmed actor Adam West(Batman on the TV series) will make a cameo on 'The Dark Knight Rises,'" they write. Hmmm ... it'd be awesome if Nolan makes a Grey Ghost reference. Well, if its true and West finally gets a little recognition from the films. Meanwhile, the Facebook DKR Community page has photos of actors arriving on set, like this one of Tom Hardy:

Release date: July 20th, 2012

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Heat Vision reports that Cap is planing a Comic-Con visit. "Marvel and Paramount, which is distributing the film, are planning a military salute that would involving star Chris Evans and soldiers stationed in San Diego. Evans would also attend the Con to do to signings at the Marvel booth," they write. "Additionally, whispers suggest a special Con screening of the film." Considering the movie opens that Friday, a modest event and maybe a screening wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's certainly more sensible than a Hall H panel.

Starring Chris Evans, release date: July 22nd, 2011

CONAN THE BARBARIAN

Spinoff Online spotted a new UK trailer for the film that's pretty good despite its lack of the heavy metal riffs in the US version. Unfortunately, it's not an embeddable video, so link through for some more Barbarian action.

Release date: August 19th, 2011

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

Superhero Hype has some set photos from Plano, Illinois and they tell an interesting story:

Hmm, I wonder why Smallville is in trouble ... a battle with aliens or the economic downturn?

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: 2012

THE HOBBIT

Total Film offers a preview of their chat with actor Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin Oakenshield in the film. "The book is so focused on the dwarves, so I think it's a chance for Peter [Jackson] and Fran [Walsh] to really look at that whole race in more detail, their heritage and what they're like as characters," he says. He also call Thorin's sword Orchrist, "bloody heavy!"

Release date: December 14th, 2012 & December 13th, 2013

BATMAN LIVE

Bleeding Cool spotted this sneak peak at the live arena show:

Release date: July in the UK, August 2012 in the US

ALPHAS

Spinoff Online spoke with executive producer Ira Steven Behr and actors Ryan Cartwright and Azita Ghanizada about their new SyFy show that features humans with extraordinary abilities. "I've done a lot of genre television and it has always been a struggle, one I have kept fighting, to try and get humor into the shows," said Behr. "Here was the chance, right there on the plate, to do honest, real character-driven humor in a show that had enough other elements in terms of drama and mythology that the humor was going to be woven into that fabric in such a way it could not be pulled out." That aspect of humor drew Cartwright to the show. "The humor in 'Alphas' comes from the people trying to rub along. I really liked the comic element of the characters' relationships with each other," he explained.

Airdate: July 11th, 2011

LADIES OF THE LAW

Deadline reports that both Stephanie March and Diane Neal are returning to "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for its 13th (God help us) season. I suppose they'll switch off from week to week handling cases, but it's going to be a strange year for the show. With Christopher Meloni leaving and Mariska Hargitay expected to follow, "SVU" will have to prove if it can survive a major cast change. It could barley handle March or Neal's earlier departures. Both have been back numerous times despite storylines that featured finality for both of their characters. Anyway, it'll be nice to see them in the main credits again. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of replacing Chris Meloni.
