SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

Movies.com (via Blastr) reports that the recent issue of Production Weekly has a synopsis for the film:

Clark Kent is a freelance reporter in his early 20’s, traveling all around the world covering various news stories.  However, Kent is forced to fly back into action to attain a fleeing assassin instead of covering an ethnic conflict between the Ghuri and Turaaba clans in West Africa.  Upon his return to form, Kent returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and become the hero he was born to be.

Well, that certainly sounds familiar. Not only is that the plot of the Mark Waid/Leinil Francis Yu story "Birthright" (which the article points out), but it's also pretty close to a plot synopsis we heard for the film a year or so ago. Interestingly enough, Movies.com does not provide the PW scan and flags this as a rumor. So, take it with a grain of Internet salt.
