With DC Comics' September's relaunch titles having been announced and debated for the last month, the publisher has begun releasing information from their October solicitations, providing CBR News with an exclusive first look at "Penguin: Pain and Prejudice" #1 and the second issue of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's "Batman!"
DC has provided CBR with the cover art and solicitation text for "Batman" #2, written by acclaimed "Detective Comics" and American Vampire" scribe Scott Snyder and illustrated by Greg Capullo. And while details are still somewhat thin on what the relaunch means for Bruce Wayne and his caped alter ego, Snyder did tell CBR News that the series is "big and epic. It explores the Bat mythology and the history of Gotham. It has things that will be surprising to Bruce about his own city and new enemies and all this stuff."
DC also provided CBR with the announcement of a new miniseries by acclaimed crime novelist Gregg Hurwitz and featuring art and covers by "Spawn" and "Repulse" artist Szymon Kudranski. The 5-issue miniseries debuts in early October and explores the early years of one of Batman's most famous and bizarre rogues gallery members, Oswald Cobblepot AKA The Penguin.
