Dynamite Entertainment has provided Comic Book Resources with an exclusive first look at Alex Ross' cover art for October's "Kirby: Genesis" #5, the series which bands together many of the "Kirbyverse" heroes created by the late Jack Kirby for various publishers. Issue #5 finds an all-out war erupting over the Proto-Seed as Silver Star, Captain Victory and the Glory Knights finally face off against the dreaded Darius Drumm, the Lightning Lady and Roag.

In an interview with CBR about the series, Kurt Busiek explained his approach to writing "Kirby: Genesis." "Our lead character [Kirby Freeman] is a normal guy who is witness to the amazing changes happening around him and is a human's eye view to it," Busiek said. "But while somebody like Phil Sheldon [from 'Marvels'] is a witness to the beginning of something everybody knows in its final form, our guy gets to see the world happening at the same time as the readers. The readers are going to be introduced to this stuff at the same time the cast is."

The Kirby character himself fights for his survival on the Phantom Continent in issue #5 with no one but the Primals to turn to for help. Pick up the issue this October to see how he fares!
