A week after a cellphone-captured bootleg leaked online, Warner Bros. has released the teaser trailer for director Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” on the movie’s official Facebook page.
A teaser in the truest sense of the word, the ominous sequence features a voiceover by Ra’s al Ghul himself (Liam Neeson), shots of a bed-ridden, and possibly dying, James Gordon (Gary Goldman), unsettling glimpses of Bane (Tom Hardy) and a preview of his showdown with Batman (Christian Bale). "Every hero has a journey," the trailer promises, "Every journey has an end."
The epic conclusion of Nolan’s Batman trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises” also stars Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman. It opens on July 20, 2012.
