THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN

Superhero Hype has a "set" visit report. "The motion capture stage is first and foremost extremely comfortable--warm, with dense, sound proof carpeting for the various capture suit wearing actors," they write of the New Zealand motion capture stage that appoximates the one used by director Steven Speilberg in Los Angeles for principle "photography." This space, known as "The Volume," also contains rudimentary set peices for the actors to interact with. The process allowed the director to shoot his actors in 32 days with a minimal crew, but producer Peter Jackson notes that "it's not cheaper than live action. Not at all."

Directed by Steven Spielberg, release date: December 23, 2011

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

The Man of Steel Facebook page has a few new photos from Illinois, includng this shot of the Kent farmhouse:

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Director Marc Webb explains to The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex why he went with the mechanical web-shooters for his film. "I was curious about the incarnation of them [because] of course in the previous films [they went away from them] and we wanted to reestablish ourselves," he says. "That was one thing but the other thing was the fact that the web-shooters were able to dramatize Peter's intellect and I thought that was really cool. … It was in the comics and we have a different design but it's a cool element to have. It's not something we over-use or over-exploit. To me, it's something I remember from when I was a kid and thinking 'It would be cool if I could build those.'"

Release date: May 28th, 2012

THE AVENGERS

Toward the end of this CNET.TV video, director Joss Whedon once again debunks the Ant Man rumor and talks about the narrative challenge in the film:

CON-CRUD DAY FOUR

Well, my recuperation hasn't gone as well as I'd hoped, but I do feel a little bit better. Let this serve as a warning: always bring hand sanitizer to conventions. Always. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of the sick-days ahead.
