THE WOLVERINE

Spinoff Online reports that the film will shoot in Canada over the the fall. "The news comes this morning from The Vancouver Sun, which says production on the Hugh Jackman movie will take place from Nov. 11 to March 1 at the Canadian Motion Picture Park in Burnaby, just East of Vancouver," they write. "The facilities have been used for such movies as 'X-Men,' 'Fantastic Four' and 'Watchmen,' and television series like 'Battlestar Galactica' and 'Supernatural.'" Say, can we get the guy that plays Castiel into the movie? He does a good gravelly voice.

Release date: 2012?

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Superhero Hype has a new Tumbler picture they claim contains spoilers, but I just don't see it:

With a fleet of these vehicles in the film, who can say if one of them crashing into the ground really means anything? Also, Reeler Robert offers this slice of Pittsburgh life while the film is in town: "Nothing too fantastic to look at, but this explosion from today's Batman was loud enough to rattle the windows where I am higher than the 30th floor of my building in downtown Pittsburgh and almost make me do a coffee spit-take across my desk this morning." That's got to be a trip to have superheroes battling it on city streets.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

CONAN THE BARBARIAN

Collider speaks with actors Leo Howard and Ron Perlman about the film. Perlman also mentions "Hellboy 3."

Release date: Today!

THE AVENGERS

The Plain Dealer points to another video from the streets of Cleveland (with all apologies to Reeler Brian and the late Harvey Pekar the misspelling yesterday):

Also, Superhero Hype details the transformation of the Public Square into Germany. "They have built two wooden shacks, that somewhat resemble Oktoberfest bars which currently have beer tap handles lying across their bars," writes their man on the scene. "Also, a source at the Renaissance Hotel, which is connected to the Terminal Tower, told me that there will be some explosions during filming in Public Square. He was told of this so that he could inform hotel guests." You'd think Tony (or HYDRA) could just buy a few hundred kegs of Spaten Optimator and Warsteiner Dunkel.

Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

For DC Entertainment, it's crater day as this snapshot from the Ilinois set reveals (courtesy of IGN):

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

IRON MAN 3

"He's more than the sum of his parts and he's also kind of been a sleeper for a long time," says star Robert Downey Jr. of director Shane Black. As we reported yesterday, the actor spoke with The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex about Tony's third solo outing. "We're not talking much about [the script] right now because Shane is off writing and we talked before that and when we are talking again the talking is going to be over pretty quick [because we're on the same page]. It's kind of like we’re fighting on the same side and at the same time we're circling each other."

Release Date: May 3rd, 2013

GHOST RIDER 2: SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE

And as our final item of the week! Comingsoon.net has a new poster for the film that brings Nic Cage and the directors of "Crank" together for flaming-head action:

Release date: February 17th, 2012

"GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR GALAXY"

Get me a Kraken Kolada and cue up some Chicago -- it's the weekend! I may start my days off with a couple of "Babylon 5" episodes now that we know future stories aren't in the works. Creator J. Michael Straczynski gave our friends at Spinoff the final word: "I am not in negotiations with WB to develop more 'Babylon 5.'" It's kind of sad, but I really wonder if JMS could recapture the right sort of magic that elevated the show from its sometimes obviously humble budgets. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of hate-mail from "B5" fans.
