KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL

Chloe Moretz tells Movies.com that she will be back as Hit-Girl ... someday. "Actually, yeah, but I think I'm going to be a little bit older. I'd like to do it in the next year or two because I think that's a really good time age-wise. You can show Hit Girl[sic] in a different light which would be a lot of fun," she says. "I think it would be fun to show her, because you know her as this 11-year-old assassin, so I think it would be fun to show her as this twisted young adult, this 16-17-year-old Catwoman-y almost, twisted and dark person."

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

The Man of Steel Facebook community does it again with this picture of Michael Shannon in an vaguely Kryptonian outfit:

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

HOPE FALLS

Our old friend at Bleeding Cool reports that the Markosia comic book has been optioned by Future Films. "[It] is a comic about a girl who returns to her home town after twenty years, who is then revealed to have been murdered by a group of men who are now prominent town citizens, and she's out for some supernatural revenge," he writes. It sounds to me like a natural film premise.

300: THE BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA

Gerard Butler tells MTV News he requires a key thing or two in order to appear in the movie:

Did he say something? I was distracted by Michelle Monaghan.

CAPTAIN AMERICA (TV MOVIES)

According to Superhero Hype, the good folks at Shout! Factory are bringing the Cap TV movies from the late 1970s to DVD. They star low-rent action hero Reb Brown as man in the stars and stripes and they're ... well, if you enjoy movies of questionable quality, they're certainly worth your time. In fact, Shout! has a clip reel:

THE SPECTRE

As we reported here at CBR yesterday, The Spectre is coming to Fox with help from Brandon Camp, creator of the short-lived "John Doe." According to reports, the series will focus on an "ex-cop serving time in limbo who hunts down earthly criminals on behalf of the dead." That's sort of right. I suppose if the show lasts, that can expand on what the spirit of vengeance actually is and why a human must contain him. Between this and the "Deadman" series in development, it's a good time to be dead in the DC Universe.

Airdate: TBA

X-MEN ANIME

Superhero Hype also reports that the Marvel Anime version of the "X-Men" will premiere on G4 in October. According to a press release, the series will see the X-Men "summoned by Charles Xavier to track down Hisako Ichiki, a missing teenage girl in Northern Japan. There, they encounter the fanatical and anti-mutant group, U-MEN, and discover what was important enough for Xavier to bring them back together. The answer is something that could potentially bridge the gap between mutants and humans, or tear the two species apart forever." Sounds like a typical Tuesday for the Merry Mutants.

Airdate: October 21st, 2011

"YOR'S WORLD! HE'S THE MAN!"

Reb Brown, star of those 1970s "Captain America" TV movies, also stared in the classic cheese flick "Yor: the Hunter From the Future." As it happens, that movie is also based on a comic, the French fantasy strip, "Yor's World." While it's not a great movie, it does feature the titular hero killing a pterodactyl and using it as a hang-glider to save his lady love from blue orc-men while the soundtrack kicks in to proclaim that Yor is "the man." The film became available as an Movies on Demand title at Amazon, so give it a look. You'll be glad you did. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of the eventual remake starring Kellan Lutz.
