Official Press Release

Hey, True Believer!

A sweet little message to entertain you during this Labor Day weekend:

It seems that, for whatever reason, writer Mark Millar has never been a big fan of the ragin' Cajun known as Gambit. But the southern scoundral didn't worry, because he has a legion of fans -- many of them among the female variety.

So, when Millar announced that he would not be including Remy LeBeau in his run on Ultimate X-Men, you can image how upset those fans were. But did they give up on their dream of seeing the card-throwing mutant from New Orleans appear in the new hit X-book? Heck no. Instead, they rolled up their sleeves and began what came to be known as the "Mark Millar Candy Campaign."

See, these hard-working gals learned that Millar has a sweet tooth, so to show how "sweet" they were on Remy, they began to send packages of chocolate both to Millar and the X-office shared by Mark Powers, Pete Franco, and Andrew Smith. So, after hundreds of such packages started streaming in, the X-boys wised up and threw in the towel. That's why Gambit will appear in both Ultimate X-Men #13 and #14!

So as we tip our glass to salute hard work on this Labor Day weekend, let us all also remember the hard work by the ladies that love Gambit! You go, girls!

'Nuff Said!
