GHOST RIDER 2: SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE

So just how different will this film be from its predecessor? "He will light the cat on fire," says co-director Mark Neveldine, according to The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex. He and directing partner Brian Taylor spoke at NYCC Saturday to a packed house. I should know, I was stuck outside in the line.

According to Variety's Showblitz blog, Warner Bros. is preparing to make a decision on the manga-to-anime-to-westernized-film adaptation. "The filmmakers gave a presentation on Wednesday to Warner execs that included a revised budget. Sources say most people are confident execs will be happy with the new budget ... but you never know in this town," they write. I'm hopeful that cooler heads will prevail and that this project is left to die peacefully in its sleep.

BACK IN REALITY

Well, after a few days of subways, observing the cosplay party in Times Square, and getting locked out of my panels, I'm glad to be home. NYCC was dizzying and crowded, but I think we should do it again next year. As always, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of returning to the Javitz Center.
