So, my hopes have been dashed as Variety reports that Warner Bros. green-lit the film. With that, everything becomes solid; including the casting. "Both Warners and Collett-Sera have been keen on [Garrett Hedlund to star], but had to wait for a greenlight to make their move," they write. So, just think on this for a moment. Hedlund, who played Sam Flynn in "Tron Legacy" as Kaneda ... er, "Kendall." I guess that means we can expect Channing Tatum to show up as Tetsuo -- I mean "Tommy."

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
According to Slashfilm, a six-minute "prologue" will be attached to IMAX prints of "Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol." They write, "If this happens, audiences would get their first chance at seeing 'The Dark Knight Rises' footage in IMAX on December 16. That's because 'Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol' is opening exclusively in IMAX five days before its general release, which is on December 21." That's a good ploy to get people to see the latest "M:I" movie.
Release date: July 20th, 2012
MTV News has the trailer for "Chronicle," an upcoming faux-documentary style flick about a group of young men with telekinetic powers.
Yeah, it's kind of a slow news day ... but the premise of this film is sound.

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL
It seems Zod and Jor-El will engage in close-quarters combat, if Russell Crowe's Twitter posts are to be believed. The actor, innocently enough, discussed his workout the other day: "15km bike ride, umpteen hours fighting Michael Shannon. He's very hard to put down." Asked by a follower if he hands Zod his ass, Crowe replied, "Hard to tell who wins, we are still fighting tomorrow." An actual Jor-El/Zod fight is something I wouldn't mind seeing.
Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

NIGHT TRAIN TO ARKHAM CITY
I had the chance to play a little bit of "Arkham City" last night and boy is it fun. I forgot how compelling the fighting, gadgets and takedowns were. So far, the game seems to be a fine update on the mechanics introduced in "Arkham Asylum." Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of actually buying the game for the Catwoman missions.
