THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

According to CHUD, the film's prologue -- attached to certain IMAX prints of the next "Mission: Impossible" film -- will carry a PG-13 rating of its own for "some violence." Considering how far the last film pushed the PG-13 rating, I wonder what "some violence" means in this context.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

300: THE BATTLE OF ARTEMISIUM (?)

According to Moviehole, casting is underway for the Goddess Artemisia, which I guess caused another title change to "Artemisium". The site reports that in the story "Artemisia tells Xerxes that he has no choice but to avenge his father’s death and has to man up before becoming king. So, he sets off to become a God because that's the only way he can win the battle." She also has scenes with Greek hero Themistocles, so she sounds like a pretty pivotal character.

WILSON

As Spinoff Online reported, "Election" director Alexander Payne will adapt Daniel Clowes' graphic novel. "[He] will direct from Clowes' script about a middle-aged misanthrope who sets out to rekindle his relationship with his ex-wife, and discovers he has a teenage daughter who was born after the marriage and given up for adoption." Sounds like Payne's type of material. Don't expect too soon, though as the director has at least two films on his plate already.

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

Henry Cavill tells The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex about his first meeting with the toymaker who will immortalize him in action figure form. "I was shaking hands with a guy who is making a toy out of me. I don't think there's any shame in being really excited about it. It's mega-weird, but as long as you don't get too wrapped up in it, it's great," says the actor. Just wait 'til he sees the accessories that come with the toy. Meanwhile, Amy Adams tells IGN how she approached the Lois Lane role:

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

GHOST PROJEKT

The Oni Press comic is headed to Syfy according to Spinoff Online. The plot concerns a "female Russian agent and a male U.S. weapons inspector who cross paths while investigating an abandoned Soviet research facility in Siberia, where a deadly force has been unleashed." The project is one of three recently announced by Syfy. Of course, it's still in the development phase, so who knows if it'll actually make it to broadcast.

AKA JESSICA JONES

Melissa Rosenberg tells I Am Rogue that a certain Hero for Hire will appear on the TV series adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis's "Alias" comics. "Luke Cage is in there. Absolutely, I love that character," she says, though, don't expect Jones and Cage's daughter to show up too soon on the series. "When you give your superheroes babies it gets very complicated," she admits. "I went through that on Dexter, although it gives you some new interesting storytelling." Did Rosenberg just call Dexter a superhero?

CLASH OF THE TREKS

According to Trek News, "Voyager" actor Garrett Wang had an unhappy meeting with William Shatner. "I was at the Tulsa Trek Expo, [in] the green room ... I walked up to him and said 'Mr. Shatner, I finally get to meet you.' [Shatner's handshake] it was limp wristed, he gave me this, like he was the Queen of England or something," the actor recalls. "So he gives me that, then in the middle of the handshake, he looks away, then he pulls his hand away and he wipes it off on his shirt, right in front of me." As you can expect, Trekkers are taking sides based on their own experience with the actors. I've heard plenty of unkind things about both of them, but I think Wang is missing an important point about Shatner: from his point of view, he's the only entity in the universe. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of a TrekWar. (Oh, the puns!)
