THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Thanks to Batman On Film and visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin, we now have a list of IMAX theaters that are equipped to show the prologue. He says the 6 minute short will appear in theaters featuring "1570 "

as their format code. If you plan to watch "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" to see the prologue, here's your first step in making sure you get the right tickets.

Release date: July 20th, 2012

X-MEN: SECOND CLASS

20th Century Fox CEO Tom Rothman tells Comingsoon.net that he hopes to bring director Matthew Vaughn back for a "First Class" sequel. "We have to be sure to get great scripts again," Rothman said. "We're working hard on the script ... but we have every hope of moving forward."

Release date: TBA

SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL

Comic Book Movie notes that actor Cooper Timberline has been added to the film's IMDB page as "Clark Kent, Age 9." As always, IMDB cast lists for films in production are often dubious sources of information and it is always possible any flashbacks to Clark's youth could be left in the edit bay.

Directed by Zack Snyder, release date: June 14th 2013

JOHN CARTER (OF MARS)

I haven't talked much about this film in a long time because the images released so far have left me a bit cold, but Ain't It Cool News has a new poster that gives me a little bit of hope that things will work out:

Cool image, but lousy title treatment.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, release date: March 9th, 2012

MOVIE 43

Leslie Bibb tells Superhero Hype that she will play Wonder Woman in a segment of the Farrelly Brothers' upcoming anthology picture. "I have on this amazing wig and the whole getup, which was pretty fantastic," she says. The short will also feature Jason Sudeikis as Batman and "Bobby Cannavale is a jacked up Superman who smokes." Ah, the glamorous world of comedy. Bibb continues, "I'm crazier than bat sh*t. Like, she is really crazy, and so it was really fun because I know Jason [Batman] and he won’t call me back and I love him and he just doesn't care about me. And so it proved to be a good time." So ... why didn't the Farrellys go the whole hog and option "The Pro?"

Release date: TBA

BOOSTER GOLD

Dan Jurgens tells Comic Book Movie's Josh Wilding that he's thrilled to see his creation make the leap to television. "It's a great concept for TV as the character himself would be very interested in getting on TV. You could build a lot of layers into it that would make for great fun," says the creator.

Airdate: TBA

THE WALKING DEAD

Comic Book Movie also spotted this scene from the next episode, due to air in February:

Returns: 2012

LATE TO THE THRONES

While I found the first episode fairly dry for my tastes, I have to admit I enjoyed "Game of Thrones" on the whole ... enough that I picked up the audio book of "A Clash of Kings" to listen to during my commute. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of salted meats and honey wine.
