Following recent news for the creative changes to DC Comics' New 52 lineup including Ann Nocenti on "Green Arrow," Dan Jurgens and Keith Giffen taking over "Superman" and yesterday's announcement that Tom DeFalco would be stepping in for "Legion Lost," the publisher revealed yet another shift in creative team, this time for "The Fury of Firestorm" on its blog, The Source. Beginning with Issue #7, Joe Harris will be joining as co-writer alongside Ethan Van Sciver to continue the chronicle of Ronnie Raymond, Jason Rusch and their powers combining to the new, behemoth of a Firestorm.

Best known for his work on "Ghost Projekt" from Oni Press and Dynamite's "Vampirella and the Scarlet Legion," Harris' "Firestorm" arrival signals the exit for series writer Gail Simone, who will continue to work on DC's "Batgirl." While no explanation was given for Simone's departure from the book, the creative shift also has Ethan Van Sciver pulling double duty for two issues as both co-writer and interior artist with ongoing artist Yildiray Cinar returning for Issue #9.

Series editor Rachel Gluckstern teased the upcoming arc by Harris and Van Sciver titled "The Firestorm Protocols." "The secrets are out, the weapons are amassing, and Ronnie and Jason have barely begun to understand the depths in which they’re swimming," said Gluckstern via The Source. "Once they were normal teens, now they wield incredible powers – and have caused incredible disasters. And it’s only going to get worse. Ethan Van Sciver and Joe Harris are kicking down the doors in this new chapter of 'The Fury of Firestorm,' taking our heroes into the global arena of politics and power. We’re going to learn the truth about Professor Stein and all the plans he set in place, which are now spiraling out of control."

Stay tuned to CBR for more on the new "Firestorm" creative team.
