I remember when the week before Christmas was a slow one for the Reel. This year, we have a bevy of trailers, so let's get started with this German language international "Avengers" trailer (via Spinoff Online):
Is it just me, or does German dubbing make it seem more serious and hardcore?
Directed by Joss Whedon & starring everybody, release date: May 4th, 2012
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Yesterday also brought us the official release of the trailer for the latest Batman flick. Just in case you missed it, CBR has you covered:
Release date: July 20th, 2012
THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN
Director Steven Spielberg tells The Los Angeles Times Hero Complex that the thing that kept him from making the film until now was simple: the dog. "There was too much demanded from the dog and the risk was too high to go with dog trainers and several look-alike dogs," he says. After Peter Jackson's Weta Digital provided a test of a digital Snowy, the director abandoned his live action plans for the project. "I knew two things," adds Spielberg. "I was going to run away from live-action, but I was also going to run toward Peter Jackson."
Directed by Steven Spielberg, release date: December 21, 2011
As Spinoff Online reported, a countdown to the trailer for Ridley Scott's quasi-prequel to "Alien" has begun. Lucky for us, it comes with footage:
There's even a second video with more glimpses of sci-fi action (via Collider):
Release date: June 8th, 2012
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
Now, in this spot should be a trailer for the first of the two "Hobbit" films, but, sadly, that trailer will not arrive until later today. In the meantime, Spinoff Online spotted this still from the film:
Now, just where are Bilbo and the Dwarves? That doesn't look like Hobbiton or Rivendell. Is it possible we have our first look at the house of Beorn?
Release date: December 14th, 2012
WRATH OF THE TITANS
And just to cap things off, we have a trailer for the "Titans" sequel (via Superhero Hype):
Needs less Marylin Manson and much more Kraken.
Release date: March 30th, 2012
THE WRAPPING SEASON
I have a small pile of gifts to wrap. It might surprise you to know I actually enjoy it, even if I can't cut a straight line to save my life. That's what old-school paper cutters are for. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, bracing for the future threat of wrapping oblong shapes.
