THE AVENGERS

A veritable invasion of info came for Earth's Mightiest Movie this weekend, beginning with new images of the film in Empire Magazine discovered by Superhero Hype (via Spinoff Online). Click through for a cornucopia of covers and a plethora of photos.

Comic Book Movie also posted a quote from Empire by Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, who teased the alien race in "The Avengers."

"It's not Skrulls, I've been clear about that. Beyond that, we want to hide it," Feige told Empire. "The identity of the alien race is not impactful. It exists in the comic books, but we're not setting up the Kree-Skrull war or anything like that."

Feige also denied the possibility of the Red Skull's appearance in the film. "Was Skull vaporized at the end of the movie, or thrust into another realm?" he said. "That remains to be seen. It would be fun to see Skull in future, but he's not in this one."

In honor of Chinese New Year, The Borneo Post reports Star Cineplex Cibu will be giving away collectable "ang pow" red envelopes featuring live-action shots of The Avengers featuring Black Widow, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.

The biggest "Avengers" rumor to hit this weekend came from Radio Times in an interview with actress Jenny Agutter, who plays a Council Member in the film. According to the article, Agutter may have let slip a key cameo in the film.

"I’m sworn to secrecy!" she told Radio Times. "I wasn’t allowed a script until I got there, and when I did, I felt like a complete child being on big sets and a huge parking lot full of Winnebagos."

The actress, according to Radio Times, apparently went on to "let slip that two of these housed Spider-Man and Iron Man." That's right. Spider-Man. Could this herald a cameo from Andrew Garfield's web-slinger? Is there a secret deal with Sony to unite the two films for a more complete Marvel Movieverse?

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring everyone. Opens May 4.

MAN OF STEEL

According to the Man of Steel Facebook Page, there are unconfirmed rumors that Dylan Sprayberry and Jadin Gould have been cast as young Clark Kent and Lana Lang, respectively. While the rumor is completely unconfirmed by Warner Bros., the post mentions both actors did "at some point being to follow the official Twitter accounts for Zack Snyder and a Henry Cavill Facebook Page." While IMDB lists Sprayberry as "Clark Kent at 13," Gould is credited simply as "Lana Lang."

PROMETHEUS

Courtesy of Comic Book Movie here's a new international poster for "Prometheus."

In an interview with "Alien" actress Sigourney Weaver, MovieWeb reports the actress may have lent her input to director Ridley Scott for the upcoming feature.

"Fox and I disagreed on how the franchise should continue," Weaver told MovieWeb. "But I'm glad it's Ridley Scott doing it, and I'll be as curious as anyone, or maybe more curious, to see it. I think he took my suggestion. Fox wanted to go to earth and I said: 'That's so boring. Who wants to see aliens on earth?' I said 'go back to the planet,'"

Opens June 8

JOHN CARTER

7Films has posted a series of videos featuring "John Carter" star Taylor Kistch during a Q&A in London, where he answered a number of questions including why the title was changed from "John Carter of Mars" to just "John Carter."

"It's truly an origin story and when you see the film in its entirety, you'll really understand why it was that way," the actor said. "Story-wise, he earns that title, which is something I am a huge fan of, especially with that -- I'd say last couple of minutes are pretty great."

Be sure to head over to 7Films for more clips from the press conference.

Opens March 9

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

MTV caught up with Peter Jackson at Sundance, where he spoke briefly on the upcoming "Hobbit" film, which will wrap filming in July.

Opens December 14

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

Here's a new TV spot for "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Opens June 1

CHRISTIAN BALE: SUPERHERO

Apparently, Christian Bale has begun taking his crimefighting person to heart. Contact Music reports the "Dark Knight Rises" star broke up a fight between two homeless men in California. It's possible the actor is starting to make this super-hero thing a habit.
