THE AVENGERS

At Toy Fair 2012 this past weekend, Marvel and Lego revealed the new "Avengers" themed building sets and official descriptions. Each building set has some very minor possible spoilers, specifically from Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout.

"The Hulk and Thor have Loki captured on board the Avengers' awesome Helicarrier. Using his powers of trickery and illusion, Loki makes Hawkeye lose control of his function-packed jet fighter. Help Hulk bring down the malfunctioning jet fighter and its flick-missiles by smashing the fuel canisters to hit the jet fighter! Then jump onto the jet fighter and rescue Hawkeye from the cockpit with the cockpit blast function! Includes 4 minifigures: Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Loki."

Also from Toy Fair, as reported by Spinoff Online, it is possible the Skrulls make an appearance in the movie considering images of pieces from an "Avengers" themed board game that have surfaced at MTV Geek. Despite the piece's red (and not green) exterior, it looks pretty Skrully to me.

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring everybody. Opens May 4.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Comic Book Movie has posted Emma Stone's full interview with the 2012 Comic-Con Annual where the actress spoke, among other things, to what drew her to the project in the first place.

"When I auditioned for it, I didn't get the full script, I only got scenes between Gwen and Peter and I screen-tested with Andrew," Stone told Comic-Con Annual. "I heard about Spider-Man and I didn't think it was something I would want to be a part of. I just thought that probably isn't right for me. Then I had the scenes and realised that this was a really interesting fantastic relationship between two people and that I was being really close-minded. I liked all the Spider-Man movies and I've liked so many superhero movies that I don't know why I had that kind of mentality about it. Then I went in and auditioned with Andrew and started learning more about Gwen Stacy and her history and just fell in love with the character and with the fans, too. I started reading forums and getting involved more in the comic book universe and it just became something I really wanted to be a part of, just because of all those elements."

Opens July 3

GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE

With the "Ghost Rider" sequel right around the corner, Comic Book Movie has posted videos from a press junket featuring Nicolas Cage, Idris Elba and Johnny Whitworth. Check out Cage's interview below and click through for all three videos.

For a little more Cage, here's the actor's description in an interview at Digital Spy of how he based his portrayal of Ghost Rider on his pet cobra.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS 2

While she's not officially attached as of yet to write the screenplay for the "First Class" sequel, "X-Men: First Class" and "Nonplayer" screenwriter Jane Goldman spoke with Film School Rejects about her ideas for the sequel, including bringing in Cyclops and Jean Grey.

"You know, I can always make suggestions, and I did last time. Ultimately, those decisions come down to someone other than me," Goldman told Film School Rejects. "Would I, personally? Well, it’s really tricky. I think the route we had gone down with 'First Class' -- it’s sort of a question of where to go next, and I think those two characters were very strong, especially having [Michael] Fassbender and [James] McAvoy play them so brilliantly. In a comic sense, I still think there’s room for an X-Men [film] with the original X-Men [Laughs]. In terms of how they fit in this new universe that 'First Class' kicked off, I don’t know. I mean, yes, I think there’s room for that. All sorts of ideas have been talked about and Matthew has some particular ideas, and, in this case, all of those decisions will be done through Matthew."

EVIL DEAD

According to Variety, "Thumbsucker" actor Lou Taylor Pucci is in talks to join the cast of the "Evil Dead" remake as Eric, who Variety describes as "an intense academic whose intellectual curiosity gets him and his friends into trouble." Pucci would join already-cast actors Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez in the upcoming remake.

Opens April 12

ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER

JoBlo.com has posted the official trailer of "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter." It's mostly what you would expect -- Lincoln kicking ass and taking names of the undead.

Opens June 22

THE BOYS

As reported this weekend, Columbia Pictures has dropped "The Boys" adaptation. According to THR's Heat Vision, the project has been put into turnaround, meaning a studio could nab the rights in exchange for development costs and interest.

WHERE NO MAN HAS GAMED BEFORE

According to Heat Vision, Paramount and Namco Bandai are planning a "Star Trek" video game based on J.J. Abrams' reboot. The game is planned to release early 2013 in anticipation of "Star Trek 2." The game is co-written by Marianne Krawczyk, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
