THE AVENGERS

Before jumping right in to more "Avengers" related interviews with director Joss Whedon for both his "Cabin in the Woods" promotional tour and his panel at SXSW, here are a few new posters for Earth's Mightiest Movie to be given out for the midnight screening in select cities.

The folks over at Digital Spy have posted an interview with Whedon about the general attitude on set, which he described as "ego-free."

"'The Avengers' was the most ego-free set that I can remember being on," Whedon told Digital Spy. "They were all in it to play, to help each other, they were having a great time, there was a lot of trust. That's something one works hard at."

When MTV spoke with the director during SXSW, he spoke to listening to composer Alan Silvestri score the film.

"The most satisfying thing about 'The Avengers' is that soon I will finish it," Whedon told MTV. "It’s quite an undertaking. Although listening to Alan Silvestri conduct an 80-piece orchestra didn’t suck. It was a really beautiful experience. Really, he did such a good job, it sounds so good. You’re listening to live music and watching the movie sort of form in a way that it doesn’t until it has that music."

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring everybody. Opens May 4.

THE WALKING DEAD

Entertainment Weekly has posted an interview with Jon Bernthal about
the death of Shane in "Better Angels,"
speaking to his character's feelings in the moment.
"There's a whole part of the character that I think some people may or may not pick up on, but I think there's a part of Shane himself that knows he is no longer fit to be among the people," Bernthal told EW. "He knows how much of a danger he is. He knows now he’s killed yet another human being, and I think a part of this is him really spurring and challenging and getting Rick to step up and encompass what Shane has and take Shane out. I think there’s a suicidal flavor. There’s a flavor there that’s really saying, 'Come on, man, I'm challenging you to be the man that’s fit to raise the woman I love and the child I love and my child on the way. Come on and step up, raise your gun.' And there's a part of him that so desperately wants Rick to be that man, and when Rick finally does it, there's an element of some sort of relief."
Season finale airs this Sunday on AMC
