In April, Garth Ennis takes readers to a pulpy world filled with violence and mystery as "The Shadow" debuts from Dynamite Entertainment. Along with artist Aaron Campbell and an all-star lineup of cover artists including Jae Lee, Alex Ross , John Cassaday and classic Shadow writer/artist Howard Chaykin, Ennis plans to offer a few of his signature twists on the character while remaining true to his pulpy roots.
"I'm keeping it fairly mysterious at first," Ennis told CBR News earlier this year. "Then, about halfway through the story, you'll get one supporting character's take on the Shadow's origin -- the idea being, no one really knows for certain except the Shadow, and he's not doing much talking. He makes everyone too nervous to research his origins in depth."
Today, courtesy of Dynamite, CBR presents a look at "The Shadow" #1, including an exclusive look at new pages from the pulp-icon's return to the world of comics.
