SMALLVILLE

Our friends over at Kryptonsite have even more tidbits about the hit WB series. First up is actor John Glover talking in a possiibly spoilerish fashion about Lionel Luthor's relationship with Chloe Sullivan and Martha Kent. Second, they also have vaguely spoilerish screen captures from the season premiere.

SUPERMAN

Speaking of the Last Son of Krypton, the Los Angeles Times has an extensive retrospective on the beleaguered production's road to ... well, nowhere yet. "When you go down the road with movies that are this expensive, you have to believe in the people, in the process and in the direction you are taking," said Jeff Robinov, president of production for Warner Bros. Pictures. "And honestly, we have not been comfortable."

SIN CITY

Marv, is that you? ComicArt-L.org has what they claim to be the first look at Mickey Rourke as Marv in the Frank Miller adaptation. They claim the image is from Daily Variety, but that couldn't be confirmed by presstime. The Comic Reel will be in San Diego, and will find out for certain at Saturday's "Sin City" panel.

CATWOMAN

You might wanna be careful ogling Catwoman in the new feline flick -- according to the dutch tabloid Prive, Halle's stunt double was a man. Allegedly, Hawaiian born martial arts experts Nito Larioza has the same height and skin tone of the actress and got the gig.

BROADCASTING LIVE ...

The Comic Reel will be bouncing around the convention hall at SDCC, and if you have any emergency scoops to report (i.e. not things heard in panels, as we'll be attending), Nextel users can two-way 126*65*15106 or regular cell phone users can call 310-692-8545 on the Comic Reel's throwaway Boost Mobile phone, purchased just for the show. Or just look for the tall Black guy in a black fedora with a lightning bolt on his t-shirt, maybe carrying a case of karaoke CDs. Comic Reel reports are scheduled to continue unabated through the weekend.

Even if you're not in San Diego this weekend, if you have the scoop on anything related to comic book movies, TV adaptations or just want to give us a truck full of cash, no questions asked, drop us a line and let's coordinate. You can choose an alias if you'd like, or be mentioned by name -- we honor requests for anonymity. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, and (insert pithy sign-off here, once it gets out of development hell).
