In an article profiling Jeremy Renner at The Hollywood Reporter, director Joss Whedon spoke about a fight sequence where the actor was injured.

"He's an amazing fighter -- his fight work is wonderful: precise, heroic, and you seldom have to double him," Whedon told THR. "But one day he just turned wrong and his whole body shut down. He could not do anything. He was in enormous pain, and we had to shut that sequence down and shoot it a couple of weeks later."

Directed by Joss Whedon and starring everybody. Opens May 4

MAN OF STEEL

PROMETHEUS

The "Prometheus" Facebook App has launched, bringing with it five new images of the upcoming film.

Director Ridley Scott spoke to the Sydney Morning Herald about the concepts he's exploring in "Prometheus."

"It's a giant 'what if,'" Scott told the Sydney Morning Herald. "Has this ball that we’re sitting on right now been around here for three billion years or one billion? Either way, it’s a long f---ing time. It’s only our kind of arrogance that says 'We're the first ones.' Are we the first hominids? I really, really, really doubt it. In recent memory or legend we keep talking about wonderful, weird things such as Atlantis -- what is that? Where does that come from? Is that real, was it real, is it a memory, did it exist? And if that did exist, did it exist three quarters of a billion years ago? There’d be nothing left now. How was that created and who was it?"

Opens June 8

SKYFALL

THE MUMMY

Variety reports "Prometheus" writer Jon Spaihts is set to pen a reboot of Stephen Sommers' 1999 film "The Mummy," which starred Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

"I see it as the sort of opportunity I had with 'Prometheus,'" Spaihts told Variety, "to go back to a franchise's roots in dark, scary source material and simultaneously open it up to an epic scale we haven't seen before."

CATCHING FIRE

With "The Hunger Games" taking theaters by storm, a recent article in The Hollywood Reporter implies writer/director Gary Ross won't be back for the sequel. According to an unnamed source, the negotiations to do "The Hunger Games" were "a terrible experience" for Ross. The director is so far not signed on for "Catching Fire."

BEN 10

Man of Action Studios recently spoke with MTV, confirming that a live-action "Ben 10" film based on the popular Cartoon Network animated series is currently in the works.

"It's a live action film as far as we know," Man of Action Steven Seagle told MTV. "They've commissioned a script, which is exciting and we had a lot of cool conversations with Joel Silver the time we met with him about even which version it'll be, what aliens kids like, and it's super fun. But it's super early, so not a lot has been firmly decided."
