DARK KNIGHT RISES

Actress Marion Cotillard spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her robust career, including her mystery role as Miranda Tate in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises."

Cotillard tells THR that Tate is an ecologically-minded businesswoman who "is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She's a good guy."

The actress also denied her character is indeed Talia Al Ghul and described the role of Miranda Tate as "very small." I guess we'll have to wait until July to know for sure.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Ever wonder what Oscorp's website would look like? A new viral website for "The Amazing Spider-Man" reveals it would be a corporate logo over a black background. How about that?

Also, SuperHero Hype has posted a quick 30-second preview of the upcoming film's 4-minute super preview airing in conjunction with the season premiere of "America's Got Talent."

THE AVENGERS

Spinoff Online has posted an article about who was responsible for the decision to [SPOILERS]kill Agent Coulson[/SPOILERS] and as it turns out, it wasn't who you'd expect.

[SPOILERS]"In our first meeting [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige said, this is what we're gonna do and I said, 'Oh, but you have to go out there and tell everybody that it was your idea because this is going to get me so much shit. Because they are all going to be like, 'Oh, he did it again!'" Whedon said. "It was stipulated from the beginning, and I completely agree that it was the right thing to do, and so did Clark, who said in the early days, when I was busy apologizing for it, 'In a movie like this, with what's going on if there isn't some toll, it's just irresponsible story telling.'"[/SPOILERS]

Now in theaters

THIEF OF THIEVES

Robert Kirkman and Nick Spencer's Image comic "Thief of Thieves" hit issue #4 this week and Kirkman spoke with MTV News about the television adaptation of the book.

"With 'Thief of Thieves,' I was developing it concurrently as a comic book as well as a show. I've been talking with AMC about this for a while," Kirkman told MTV. "Because of the success of 'The Walking Dead' and my relationships with the people over at AMC, the conversation eventually comes up: 'What else are you working on? Is there anything else you have on the horizon that might be interesting to us?' I was able to talk to them about what I was doing with 'Thief of Thieves' while I was developing it as a comic book series, so the show and the comic are more or less developing concurrently."

According to MTV, no casting decisions have yet been made.

PROMETHEUS

Yahoo! Movies has posted a new "Prometheus" behind-the-scenes featurette entitled "Origins."

THE AVENGERS GO OPERATIC

Two pieces of wrap-up today -- first up, a teaser for this Sunday's season finale of "The Simpsons" featuring none other than Lady Gaga.

Also, novelist Max Gladstone has posted an article deconstructing Marvel's "The Avengers" film as an opera, noting the structure of the film, the character traits and the possible voice part characters would fill. It's a really interesting read for "Avengers" fans, especially if you're also into classical opera.
