At one time the Western was a popular genre in comics. Then it all but disappeared, except for the occasional book. In recent years the Western appears to be making something of a come back in comics. This October will see the release of "The Long Haul," by Antony Johnston and Eduardo Barretto from Oni Press. Oni has provided CBR News with a four page preview of the graphic novel set to debut this October.

Oni described "The Long Haul":

"It's 1871 and Cody Plummer's prison time is behind him, and he's having a hard time staying legit. But when Cody hears about a train carrying $100,000 making its way west, old habits die hard. When he finds out that the same agent that put him away is in charge of security, he just can't resist. With the help of some old friends, Cody assembles a crack team of aging professionals for one last score."
