DARK KNIGHT RISES

Michael Caine spoke with Empire Online about his role as Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" and wrapping up his fifth film with the director.

"I've played him three times. His role in Batman is to be your reality," Caine told Empire. "When you get into the fantasy, suddenly you've got the butler there saying exactly what you're thinking -- 'you can't do that! You can't go flying up in a bat suit in here! What are you, nuts?!' He is the foot on the ground and that's what was always important to me. And I played it that way. I remember once when Chris told me this would be the last one I said, 'if they're doing another one I'm going to play the butler if it's any good and if they offer it to me.' He said, 'I want ten percent.' I said, 'No, you're not getting it!' It's that sort of relationship."

Comic Book Movie has posted a gallery of close-up looks at Bane, Batman and Catwoman's costumes showcased at an exhibition. Check out the three images below, then click through for the full gallery.

The Official "The Dark Knight Rises" website has posted a PDF of production notes on various characters and locations in the film. It's got quite a few spoilers, but is well worth a read if you don't mind those.

Finally, Yahoo! Movies reports Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont will appear in a "Dark Knight Rises" cameo in a scene with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. So, if you're from Vermont, head out to the theaters and try to spot your senator.

Opens July 20

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

The newest iteration of the web-slinger seems to be doing pretty well. It broke box office records for a Tuesday opening with $35 million domestic box office gross.

Rhys Ifans spoke with Ain't It Cool News about his role as the Lizard in "The Amazing Spider-Man" and spoke a bit about the mystery man who appears in the end credits scene.

"A representative from OsCorp appears miraculously in the room," Ifans told AICN. "How he gets in there and how he leaves, we don’t know. Maybe we will find out. But it’s not Norman Osborn. … But it is someone who is in the employ of Norman Osborn without question."

The Aaron Sims Company has posted a number of concept pieces for "The Amazing Spider-Man" including Spidey's suit and early concepts for the Lizard. Check them out at The Aaron Sims website.

Although it's not really all that surprising, the official "Amazing Spider-Man" Facebook page has confirmed "The Amazing Spider-Man" is the first in a trilogy of films that "will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents."
