CBR TV's Comic-Con International in San Diego video interviews continue as "DREDD" stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby stopped by the incredible CBR Yacht at to talk about a number of topics, including their familiarity with the characters and mythology of the "Judge Dredd" universe, the violence of the film and their impressions of Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson.
“Dredd is a uncompromising, hard bastard,” said Urban of his character. “He is a representative of the law in this dystopian hard society where society is on the verge of collapse. It’s on the verge of complete chaos. The judges, Dredd in particular, is the last line of defense. He’s uncompromising. It’s black and white for him and he’s just a badass.”
Urban talked about Dredd's relationship with his gun, the Lawgiver, his adjustment to wearing the helmet all the time on set and the experience doing combat with the stunt and combat team, also mentioning how excited they are for fans to see the film on September 21.
"We're at the point where we're releasing this film, we're really proud of it and for me, it's not our film any more," said Urban. "It's the audience's film. If they embrace it, we'd love to come back and make more."
