written by MIKE BARON

art & cover by MEL RUBI & BARBARA KAALBERG

CONCEPT

Frank Grace attended the South Dakota School of Mines, learned to handle explosives and went to work for Grindcorps. Leasing a mine they knew to be played out, Grindcorps took out an enormous insurance policy, doctored Frank's charge so that it brought the mountain down on him, then collected his life insurance. Unfortunately for Grindcorps, Frank emerges weeks later, obtains plastic surgery in Costa Rica and returns to wreak his vengeance. The Detonator can explode anything from a skyscraper to a wine glass with no collateral damage.

THIS ISSUE

The Detonator blew up Grindcorps' Hong Kong HQ with surgical precision. He thought he got them all. He was wrong. The Twenty Step Vipers sent master assassin Manglebaum to kill Frank. Oakland PD detective McGill Green thinks Frank's a right-wing whack job. Green's sister died in the bombing of a federal building, and Green thinks Frank may have done it.

The Twenty Step Vipers are not at peace with themselves. Chafing at Uncle Yang's conservative ways, Roger Yee has sent his own assassin, Sling Blade, to kill both Frank and Manglebaum. The quiet hamlet of Milford, Montana, is about to explode.

Brilliant art by Mel Rubi. Hard-hitting dialogue by Mike Baron.

THE DETONATOR is about a lot more than just blowing things up.

Could Don Quixote be real? Television reporter Dominique Angel uncovers the story of a crusading street vagrant she dubs "Quixote" due to his rambling discourses on morality and righteousness. This modern-day quixotic knight believes street punks are monsters, government agents are demons in disguise and Dom's own boss is the very Devil himself. Soon he is wanted for murder and seems to be at the center of a vast shadowy conspiracy. But as Dom finds herself caught up in a world of intrigue and suspense, she realizes she's in danger of believing the truth as Quixote sees it, and that supernatural forces may be fighting for her very soul. Is Quixote merely a madman, or might he truly be an ancient mystical warrior reborn into the modern age?

This 300-page novel written by Michael Avon Oeming (Marvel's Thor and Powers) and playwright Bryan J.L. Glass is heavily illustrated with spot illos and full-page splashes, blurring the lines between comic and novel.

400 years in the making, the release of this modern-day retelling of Don Quixote coincides with the fourth centennial anniversary of the classic Cervantes novel. Fighting on city rooftops with demons and monsters, the story and art deliver a punch to the gut and a light to the mind.

CONCEPT

Victory is about the limits of unlimited power. Born a half-elf Demi-Goddess from the world of Arton (a medieval like world that still practices magic), Victory was created to combat a menace of a cosmic magnitude. She can destroy an entire planet with a wave of her hand or heal herself from any mortal wound in a matter of minutes. Nevertheless, even with this amazing power at her command, Victory cannot defeat her greatest enemy: loneliness.

THIS ISSUE

The Dark Force has been revealed to be the mysterious GOD of Vanity from Victoria's past. He has taken the twins, Eddie and Roger, into the book of Tomes to lure Victoria into his world, and the crew of Victory soon discovers that the game can no longer be taken lightly. Now they must enter a world long forgotten, a world not bound by mortal rules. To increase their chances of success, the group transforms into their RPG counterparts to rescue Eddie and Roger and to defeat the God of Vanity-a task easier said than done.

Incentive: For every 10 issues of Cover A and B, dealers will receive a copy of Cover C by Attila Adorjany.

THE CONCEPT

When it happened, Earth was appalled. It seemed a hurt beyond healing. But the world moved on-all except London. In the heart of that city, high technology has failed. Survivors scrape a medieval living. Great buildings stand idle. Complex machinery sits frozen. A ruthless Mayor rules the people while the mysterious Cartel dominates both. Moving between them is Esau the Hunter. Now an impatient and powerful world wants this wreck to die…quickly. The outcome rests on the shoulders of the Hunter, and it's a responsibility he does not want.

THIS ISSUE
