THOR: THE DARK WORLD
Comic Book Movie has posted a report from this year's Star Trek: Las Vegas convention saying African actress Alice Krige has announced she has a small role in "Thor: The Dark World." Krige is perhaps best known for her role as the Borg Queen in "Star Trek: First Contact."
Considering Christopher Eccleston's recent casting as ruler of Svartalfheim Malekith the Accursed, more than one source speculates Krige may be cast as Alfyse, the queen of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. Principal photography on the "Thor" sequel begins this month, so it's likely more will be revealed in the near future.
Opens November 8, 2013
THE WALKING DEAD
In anticipation of "The Walking Dead" season two's DVD/Blu-ray release, TV Line has posted a behind-the-scenes featurette about the barn-burning scene in the season two finale, "Beside the Dying Fire." According to the showrunners, the barn was never built to last and was always intended to burn down. It gives a great look at how the show was able to capture the shot of the barn collapsing at just the right moment. Regrettably, the video can't be embedded, so head over to TV Line to view the featurette.
Season three premieres this fall on AMC
TV Guide has posted a new trailer for the upcoming CW drama "Arrow," which features a much better look at Oliver Queen and his motivation for taking on the vigilante mantle. It's only about 30 seconds long, but there's a bevy of new footage there.
Premeires this fall on the CW
IGN spoke with actress Lyndsy Fonseca, who played Kick-Ass' girlfriend Katie in "Kick-Ass," about her possible appearance in the sequel. While Fonseca did confirm her character appears, she indicated her work on "Nikita" makes it difficult for the role to be much more than a cursory appearance.
"Somehow I’m supposed to do 'Kick-Ass 2' this year. I’m so excited, and I just pray that it all works out! I don’t know," Fonseca told IGN. "They know that I’m on the show, so it’s not going to be a month of work because I can’t. I can’t do it. But I’ll at least be able to do something, which is very kind of them."
Fonseca also spoke briefly about a draft of the script she had read and her character's involvement in the sequel.
"She’s just in the beginning, so far. I’m just happy to be involved," she said. "She’s still the strange Katie -- somewhat girl next door but has strange, drug-addict boyfriends and works at the needle exchange. Very contradicting personality traits... It's still that weird!"
Alexis Denisof spoke with MTV about his role as Thanos' right-hand man in the post-credits scene of "The Avengers" and his positive brief experience on set following six hours of prosthetic work.
"Even when I was shooting it I was excited," Denisof told MTV. "To see that huge stage and to be in that place with my dear friend Joss and watch him doing what I know so well he can do on that scale… I was thrilled to be part of it. And then to see it -- it blew me away."
Meanwhile, Edward Norton (who played Bruce Banner in "The Incredible Hulk") spoke with Metro and spoke about his reasoning for not reprising his role as the Hulk for "The Avengers."
"I couldn’t do it for a variety of reasons -- personal and professional," Norton said. "I had a blast doing The Hulk. I don’t mean to sound snotty but I don’t aspire to spend that much time in my life doing those types of films. I have a lot of other things I want to do."
Releases on DVD/Blu-ray September 25.
SocialiteLife has posted a whole gallery of photos from the set of "2 Guns," adapted from the BOOM! Studios comic of the same name starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. The photos show Wahlberg, Washington and co-star Paula Patton.
A new promo for the CBS Sherlock Holmes adaptation "Elementary" starring Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu has hit with some new footage and a brief look at Holmes' method.
