X-MEN 3

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Stan "The Man" Lee will be on hand at Los Angeles' Arclight Cinemas on Tuesday, October 19th for a screening of "X2: X-Men United" and for a Q&A session afterwards.

AKIRA

According to Ain't It Cool News, "Catwoman" director Pitof has expressed an interest in taking on the helming of Warner Brother's live action "Akira" adaptation.

LADY DEATH

Screen captures from the soon-to-be-released DVD, you say? Well, if you insist ... the team at Comics Continuum has scads of visuals from the animated feature, as well as the studio's official description of the project. Eric Ko and UDON pitched in on backgrounds for the film.

SMALLVILLE

More glamor-styled shots of the ultra-photogenic cast of the hit WB series you say? Well, you talked us into it ... our dear friends at Kryptonsite have scoured every inch of the WB's "Smallville" subsite and found 'em for you. They also have excerpts from the official "Smallville" magazine which recently hit stands Tuesday, including an Al Gough interview (collect them all) and an interview with star Tom Welling.

In other news, you can catch Tom Welling on more than Wednesday nights. The cable net ABC Family will air the "Smallville Backstage Special" on Saturday, October 2nd (Devoted to Smallville caught the commercial for it, Windows Media only), and the smiling farm boy will be on ABC's "The View" Tuesday, October 11th.

SLOW NEWS DAY

If you have the scoop on anything related to comic book movies, TV adaptations or just want to give us a truck full of cash, no questions asked, drop us a line and let's coordinate. You can choose an alias if you'd like, or be mentioned by name -- we honor requests for anonymity. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thanks for your time and indulgence, check out my comic reviews tomorrow, and (insert pithy sign-off here, once it gets out of development hell).
