Marvel Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Daniel Acuna's variant cover for "Deadpool" #3, written by Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan with art by Tony Moore. Acuna's cover features the Merc With A Mouth firing automatic weapons above Doctor Strange, who finds himself covered in shell casings as he shields his ears from the crack of automatic gunfire.
"It's an action/comedy, but I would say the DNA is in Big Trouble in Little China and Ghostbusters and those sorts of things where the stakes are high and these are real threats," writer Gerry Duggan said at the series announcement, mentioning the fan-favorite character will start his Marvel NOW! series with a mission to hunt down zombified dead presidents. "If Deadpool can't get the job done, this country is done. There are big threats. And by the way, the way these Presidents are drawn -- they're very menacing. … [H]opefully America is good and sick of politics. Hopefully you won't mind seeing some of the former pillars of society and government come back with some very bad intentions."
While "Deadpool" is ramping up for its Marvel NOW! release in November, Marvel has already begun ramping up for the second round of Marvel NOW!, revealing a series of teasers last week in addition to Dustin Weaver's interlocking "Avengers" covers.
