ARTISTS FOR AMERICA is the result. Bringing together a number of Kyle's professional associates in the comic industry, utilizing the talent of artists like Eric Powell (STAR WARS TALES, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), Jason Moore (BATMAN HAUNTED GOTHAM, CRUSADES), Matt Roach (storyboard artist on TV's BIG GUY AND RUSTY, JACKIE CHAN), and others, A.F.A. hopes to raise relief funds for the September 11th Fund established by the United Way and the New York Community Trust. Contributions made to the fund will be used to mobilize resources to respond to the urgent needs of victims and their families, both in New York and Washington D.C.
Hosted by Bookery Fantasy, 16 West Main Street in downtown Fairborn, Saturday, September 29th, ARTISTS FOR AMERICA will offer the public a chance to meet in person many of the creators behind their favorite comics and animated series. Sketches by the artists (in exchange for a donation to the fund) will be offered, as well as autographed comic books and related merchandise. Marvel Comics has authorized a limited edition CAPTAIN AMERICA print illustrated by Kyle Hotz, available exclusively through ARTISTS FOR AMERICA. 100% of all proceeds from the sale of sketches, signed comics, and the limited edition print, will benefit the September 11th Fund. Bookery Fantasy will also be donating 10% of its sales that day to the United Way fund.
Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Most are fictional contrivances, too good to be true, the stars of books, movies, comics, and TV shows. Others are very real, men and women who wear firefighting gear, badges, and medical scrubs. And still others are just regular folks who do what they can. Join ARTISTS FOR AMERICA Saturday, September 29th, at Bookery Fantasy, and show your true colors.
