In 2011, IDW kicked off its first crossover event. "Infestation" tools the undead hordes of "Zombies vs. Robots" and brought them to a number of IDW books including "Star Trek," "Transformers," "G.I. Joe" and "Ghostbusters." "Infestation 2" followed this past March and spanned even more IDW titles, adding "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "Danger Girl," Dungeons and Dragons" and "30 Days of Night" to the event. While an "Infestation 3" isn't out of the question for 2013, it looks as though the publisher has something slightly different in mind for the start of the new year. In a series of images released via Twitter over the past week, IDW has teased a veritable invasion of its line from the "Mars Attacks" aliens in a series of one-shots.

"Popeye," "Kiss," "The Real Ghostbusters," "Transformers" and "Zombies Vs. Robots" will all see an invasion by "Mars Attacks," with each teaser image depicting the respective series logos swarmed by the big-headed extraterrestrials. A one-shot will release each week in January, starting with "Popeye" and ending with "Zombies Vs. Robots." While creative teams have yet to be announced for the one-shots, more news will undoubtedly come this weekend at New York Comic Con 2012.
