Any television show can swing a red carpet premiere, but only "The Walking Dead" can handle the pressure of a dead carpet premiere. While walking the dead carpet, the cast and crew of the AMC hit series discussed the development of Rick Grimes and his team of survivors as Season Three begins. Series creator Robert Kirkman, producer David Alpert, showrunner Glen Mazzara and stars David Morrissey (The Governor), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Melissa McBride (Carol), Laurie Holden (Andrea) and Danai Gurira (Michonne) discussed the show's characters and the introduction of Michonne to the series.
"She's my new bestie. She saved me in the woods in the finale of Season Two," Holden said of the relationship between Andrea and Michonne. "She's incredible, she's an alpha female. It's like a sisterhood and we have each others' backs. It's been an utter joy for me, for Andrea, to have a dear friend. Because I've lost everybody. I lost my sister, I lost Dale, I lost Shane and now I have a really good friend. I'm really glad the writers wrote that."
