Goyer and Johns teamed on DC projects in the past, including the hardcover OGN "JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice"

One-time "JSA" writer and "Dark Knight Rises" co-writer David Goyer visited the CBR Tiki Room at New York Comic Con 2012 to promote his upcoming show "Da Vinci's Demons," and teased a comic series that may excite DC Comics fans.

"There are some plans," said Goyer of returning to comics. "I have plans to do something with Geoff Johns that's been on the drawing books for a while. Basically, [we're] just looking for the time to plot it out. DC is holding the space for it, it's an event that we're going to do, it's a 13-issue thing. Hopefully, we'll start plotting it out this fall."

The untitled 13-issue event series would not only mark Goyer's return to comics, but a return to his collaborative efforts with Geoff Johns. The two worked together on "JSA" as co-writers for nearly 50 issues before Johns took over as solo ongoing writer with "JSA" #51.
