FIREFLY: THE ANIMATED SERIES

While it may only be a rumor, the prospect of a "Firefly" animated series is certainly exciting and it's sure to continue to make the rounds in the next few weeks. At New York Comic Con 2012 during the "Firefly" reunion panel, The AV Club quotes star Nathan Fillion as teasing the possibility of an animated version of the beloved science fiction series.

Further, The New York Post reports actor Sean Maher (Simon Tam) is actually aware of a project in the works.

"I know somebody who is actually trying to get that done, who has approached Joss [Whedon, the creator] about it," Maher told the New York Post. "He used to work with Guillermo del Toro."

Obviously, "Firefly" fans have been burned before -- and Whedon looks to be concentrating on his Marvel Cinematic Universe work at the moment -- but the possibility exists, and maybe that's enough for now.

ANT-MAN

Spinoff Online reports that Marvel Studios has finally given Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man" film a release date of November 6, 2015. This is the first real news of Wright's "Ant-Man" since the test footage shown at CCI 2012.

THE WALKING DEAD

TV Line has some unfortunate news for fans of the current "The Walking Dead" cast: one of the series regulars is not long for this world. TV Line's Michael Ausiello confirms a series regular will die by the end of Season Three -- no matter who it is, they may have a bit of time left -- Ausiello couldn't say whether the character bites the dust in the first or second half of the season.

IRON MAN 3

James Badge Dale spoke briefly with Vulture about his role in "Iron Man 3" as the villainous Eric Savin during the New York Film Festival.

"The great thing about my costume in 'Iron Man' is that it's very low-pro," Dale told Vulture. "The tone of the film is very particular, very offbeat, very out-there."

The first trailer for the film is slated to debut next week on October 23.

KICK-ASS 2

Chloe Grace Moretz, who plays Hit-Girl in "Kick-Ass 2," spoke with Collider about her role in the film and returning for the sequel.

"You're going to see more Mindy," Moretz told Collider. "In the first film you saw more of Hit-Girl, but you're going to see a bit more Mindy and you're going to see her realize, 'God, what was I doing? What am I doing? Who am I? Am I Hit-Girl? Am I Mindy? What is my mask?' … That's what you’re going to see -- this tug of war between Hit-Girl and Mindy."

Meanwhile, JoBlo.com has posted two photos from Christopher Mintz-Passe, including one of his character's new ride.

HELLBOY 3

While speaking with MTV, director Guillermo del Toro brought an update on the third "Hellboy" movie -- namely, that there's some movement on the project.

"It's hard to find who finances it," del Toro told MTV. "It's the biggest chapter of the three movies. Hellboy becomes the beast of the apocalypse. We've inquired, but so far, if you know a rich uncle with $130 million…"

The director also spoke briefly about Marvel's "Hulk" television series, which is currently in a holding pattern pending a mystery writer's availability.

ROBOCOP

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony and MGM are pushing back Jose Padilha's "Robocop" back to February 7, 2014. The bump will give the film more time for post-production and visual affects, though THR reports that wasn't the reason for the move. No other details were given.
